The President is finnally getting engaged, showing leadership and that's good. You need the NG on the ground but the country also needs to see leadership which is important to morale. And that's finally occuring.

NEW ORLEANS, Louisiana (AP) -- Five days after Susan Dewey arrived in New Orleans to celebrate her birthday, she was so desperate to get out that she banded with hundreds of other tourists to hire 10 buses for $25,000 to rescue them.
After waiting hours, they learned government officials had commandeered their buses to evacuate others.

I remember the mayor announcing the openning of the Superdome as a refuge of last resort. He told people to bring their own food and water as their were none.
I think it was used in the same way during hurricane George. If so, one would think that food would have been stored there.
