It is....in Florida.
That was because the thug couldn't very well say "I stayed to get my share of the loot". < /sarcasm >
Maybe the cop had a specific mission (hence the video recorder) and specific orders not to speak to the media.
Next to that thread with postings from DU, this thread has to have about as much collective ignorance and conclusion jumping than I've ever seen.
When there is a rodeo or game at the new stadium, somehow they manage to bus over 60,000 people out of the stadium area in under 3 hours.
Yet, we are led to believe that they can't get 20,000 people out of the SuperDome after 4 days.
Something is seriously wrong. Bush needs to put some grown-ups in charge. I would suggest a USMC colonel.
There just something seriously wrong with our society. We can handle video games and movies with multiple body counts but we can't stand Shep standing on the side of the overpass with footage of just one blanket draped body?
Are we a bunch of wimps?
Shep is a journalist.
The people that need to know where to go are there, NOT watching TV. he can direct them, he doesn't have to indulge Shep.
I think you're right.
I also think that his reality check includes remembering what the real first responsibility of news, particularly broadcast news, is getting information where it is neeeded. Most especially in emergency situations.
I don't know the truth. We don't even know if Shep showed the full context of the tape/interview. Having said that, I agree, an answer of some type, even if it's "I don't know" would go a long ways here.
Ah, thank God for Lorell. He seems to be the only voice of sanity on CNN.
Welcome to Free Republic, Freeper Wife.
No. Its fine, he is just telling the story. No problem here.
Fox is really going downhill fast. They have half of CNN people, their reporting has been really poor lately. Overkill on certain topics. I just get my headlines from FR on important issues. Brett Humes (his eyes bug me) and Cuvoto are the only ones left.
Are we a SuperPower or aren't we?
I think we just got caught with our super-power pants down. We've just learned (and so has Osama B.L.) that we aren't so super-power when it comes to a true dissater on a massive scale. One can only hope that this is a wake up call for everyone nationwide.
I only have a problem with Shep running around and harassing local cops, which he was doing yesterday.
Hannity just announced on his radio show that he will be getting a "live interview" with Shep.....
"Are we a bunch of wimps?"
I like Shep. You don't.
We all have to come up with survival plans, not only for ourselves but for our families and vulerable loved ones. Things will get worse when even those who prepared for a say a week start running out of supplies. Most people in Metro NOLA/Coastal AL/MS will be unemployed for months- few are prepared to deal with that.
I couldn't disagree more.
