Coos Bay, Oregon?
This disaster is actually all my fault. I came off an active duty recall recently and all my paperwork is totally gooned up. Everybody that can fix my problems (pay, medical, etc) is located in New Orleans. I found out about the my problems on Friday afternoon right when the hurricane veered for New Orleans.
There is also a Special Boat Unit of the Navy stationed at Stennis Space Center near Picayune, MS. At least it was still there 5 years ago when we left...who knows where it is now.
I wonder if this works for Air Force Personel too, although my wife who is stationed at Keesler AFB said they suffered no casualties.
"Coos Bay, Oregon"
Yes, check my FR profile
Your response was confusing, I thought you meant Coos Bay personnel were in danger from Katrina.
"I personally know several former Station Coos Bay crew

Keyword "former"
Yeah, I re-read it and figured it out.
Next posting up is from USCG and FirstGov.gov
Watch for my postings tonight I have one on Keesler AFB
When I was listening to the BRAC committee meetings last week, they mentioned that the Special Boat Unit is still there.
I'm not understanding. My husband is stationed at NAS Belle Chasse. The base was evacuated on Saturday.
It's just an all BUPERS alert to try and count any loose noses that may have been on leave or in route between TAD stations or new assignments.
Oh...okay. It's amazing the difference between the initial damage assessment to the NAS and that which we are seeing on tv regarding New Orleans. The base was built at sea level, or one foot above it. Flooding has occurred there, but it is localized. Until the day I die, I will never understand why New Orleans has continued to develop and build between two walls of water.
