"True, there are secular humanists who have socialist agendas, just as there are Christians who do."

Christ teaches Christians to be charitable, which means to voluntarily and even secretly donate their wealth to help the impoverished.

Re-distribution of wealth for charitable purposes (welfare, social security) that is forcible, at gunpoint, is not charity but theft. The forcible taking of the wages of an individuals labor is enslavement.

Right now the US Federal government is absolutely anti-Christian, primarily because it is largely socialist. (every welfare program is socialist and anti-Constitution)

In 1794, when Congress appropriated $15,000 for relief of French refugees who fled from insurrection in San Domingo to Baltimore and Philadelphia, James Madison stood on the floor of the House to object saying, "I cannot undertake to lay my finger on that article of the Constitution which granted a right to Congress of expending, on objects of benevolence, the money of their constituents." -- James Madison, 4 Annals of congress 179 (1794)

That's pretty much what secular humanism* is about. They believe we have to make the world better now, for there is no relief in an afterlife.

Which, BTW, is not really a religion despite a court ruling stemming from one prison inmate calling it religion in order to use the 1st Amendment to get chapel time.
