Always be Memphis State to me. That is where we paid all of our life savings.
They don't HAVE any hurricanes in the ANWR, do they? Uninterrupted production?
yep...
I think dubya needs to release some of the strategic reserve, but the refinery capacity is still maxed.
I'd expect $80/barrel before the markets close in New York tomorrow. Damn the RATs for blocking ANWR in 2001.
A better way to transport those folks who can't afford to get out of town on their own needs to be found. Bus, train, whatever it takes.
Sometimes you just have to save your own life and the lives of your children and hope Mother Nature is kind to the animals.
Believe me, the animal activists will crawl over the dead people to save the animals after this is over.
There are no refineries in or near Bridgeton. Actually New Jersey only has a handful of refineries.
Refineries: Distillation capacity of 615,000 Barrels Per Calendar Day (BCD) (2005)
Amerada Hess Corp. (Port Reading @ -0- BCD*) *Downstream capacity only
Chevron USA Inc. (Perth Amboy @ 80,000 BCD)
Citgo Asphalt Refining Co. (Paulsboro @ -0- BCD*) * 51,000 BCD Idle on 1/1/05
Sunoco Inc. (Westville @ 145,000 BCD)
ConocoPhillips (Linden @ 230,000 BCD)
Valero Refining Co. New Jersey (Paulsboro @ 160,000 BCD)
Someone living in Bridgeton could work at the refineries in Westville or Paulsboro.
No, I'm in Houston.
I haven't been here long enough to have experienced a hurricane,
but I figure it's only a matter of time.
Fortunately, I'm on the NW side of the city, which is relatively "safe".
But I doubt that it would be safe enough during one this size.
doesn't matter much.
something like a quarter of our REFINERIES are in the path of this storm as well.
our refinery capacity is already maxed.
I rode out a storm in the Bay of Biscay for 18 hours in a 36' sailboat. For eight hours my wind speed indicator was pegged at 60 knots but the wind got much higher than that. My mast was close to 50' off the water line and we had average wave height about 3/4 of that with some higher. Then the wind got really bad and blew the tops off of the waves and the ocean flat. We took three knock downs with the mast going under water. I was flat scared.
Nope...
I'll be willing to bet you couldn't get a piece of plywood in New Orleans and the surrounding areas if your life depended on it.
ok. Good to hear that.
That is, at least, some good news here.
That is an incredible picture, Ernest. It sort of took my breath away.
From Drudge...not a pretty picture...

Don't mean to sound morbid; but at least all the bodies will be in one place...
I panicked and made my husband fill up our cars today..:)

No, but ANWR will have "progressive" liberal "environmental" politicians.
She looks like the type that Alfred Hitchcock liked to hire for his leading ladies like Grace Kelly. Even if you don't like her, the Former Ambassador to Morocco always seems to be on when she is there. Coincidence? Maybe.
