Not hearing about Natalee all day!!! I am thrilled beyond belief not to hear about the "grieving mom in Crawford"...lol Just teasing...my heart is breaking..although living in Texas for over twenty years...Louisiana is and will always be my "home". Most of my family lives in NE Louisiana but have a few in Baton Rouge and Louisiana...heard from my niece this afternoon that she had made it to Jackson thank the Lord...will probably be up all night watching the news...I pray that the Lord will spare my beloved home state..
She's weakening a little... stil CAT5.
"Dan Rather has arrived and is reporting from atop the Superdome."
"Whats the Kern, frequency?"
That is what they gave the elderly and the shelter people last year when Jeanne came busting through. MRE's looked like too much food.
Another 5 mph drop and 1 mb increase from the last last advisory. Both slightly encouraging.
I just saw Dhue talking to shemp - WTF is she wearing!?
My god, she's dressing like a storm survivor! No, wait - even a survivor would think twice about grabbing THAT in an emergency.
Nope, really not mellowing. I don't wish bad on anyone. And if I wasn't concerned about Shep in the first place, I wouldn't have said he was stupid to dive right into this-- I'd just say, "ok..."
Anyway as I said, I USED to be a Shep fan!
People should be SCREAMING for more refinery capacity. It is not the crude, it is the REFINING that is the problem.
On an earlier thread there was info about Toby.....he and his family were heading out for the more secure jail where his D works for the sheriff....something like 20-30 minutes from their housem which I understand from his posts is 30 miles inland.
So how do ya like Texas?
I knew his wife had a baby but thought I heard him say he was heading down there. I don't really want anyone to be hurt either . . . he just really annoys me.
Janice Dean, weather lady on FOX, looks really, really worried.
I apologize if this has already been asked...I had to break off the computer for about an hour. Are they taking down the names of the people entering the Dome? I hate to say this but what if the Dome collapses? How will they know who all was in there?
When a well is shut in for a hurricane it fills up with sand and debris...if a well intervention company can't get to the well...it doesn't produce.
We'll take what we can get--every little drop in windspeed and pressure helps a little.
Hopefully it'll change direction or slow down before tomorrow AM.
The Superdome concern is not in the vault-like protection failing. It is in the contained tens of thousands of unpredictable folks, and all their needs and weaknesses. There will be many stories to be told of that experience.
Thanks for the memories. Mine include annual Easter trips to visit my beloved grandmother who managed the Columns Hotel on St. Charles in the Garden District. Being allowed, at age 12, to walk on my own through the magical and then-safe French Quarter. Pralines. Antoines, where the owners feted my dad, a fellow restaurateur. Oysters Rockefeller. Magnolias. Ramos gin fizzes. St. Louis Cathedral. "Desire" streetcar. Too much to contemplate through tears.
Hi mystery--
How's your family?
Prayers for you Bill. Stay dry and safe.
