Excellent post. I wish more people would stop and think for a moment as suggested.
During that period of time President Bush was a two-term Governor of the state that has 75% of the Southern border. He was raised, owned a business in and ran for Congress in Midland Texas near the Mexican border.
He was the first candidate to try to make illegal immigration an issue. He tried to make immigration and relations with Mexico the centerpiece of his first Presidential campaign.
He isn't out of touch, he is light years ahead of everyone else.

Very intelligent reply.
Smartass, That is so touching. I still think GWB is bad for our country.
Re: I don't know what you read in any of my posts, that suggest, that I'm anti Bush, or as you posted: "GW IS the worse thing to happen to our country in it's history, I believe."
Before you stick your foot in the wrong place...again, I recommend you go back, and re read what was written in my posts. If you've been flamed because your a George W. Bush hater, that's your problem. So don't attempt to dump your anti Bush rant onto me and expect sympathy."
Smartass - Don't include me in That group - I'm Not against Bush and I never said anything against GW - only my opinion that some of GW's policy decisions might be due to his (liberal) parents' influence (and why not? My parents influenced me too - even after I was older - only mine were concervative parents!!)
We will never get rid of the illegals that come in after the deadline..and will make little effort to do so...
NWO rules..conversion by invasion...from independent free nation to vassal anti-Christ state.
I feel sorry for the 'real' Republican leaders in America (if there are any left) they will be painted by the same brush that this administration will get them painted with
Then the real full speed ahead damage will begin once again we will be under the left hoof of the beast.
imo

He's fallen far behind. I've read his book A CHARGE TO KEEP and he's gone against most of his own advice. The immigration issue being his top domestic screw-up. His Hispano-pandering and steady slide towards liberalism, such as the liberalism of open borders and free trade, has corrupted him. He's steadily less and less salvagable. Hopefully the Republican Party will survive intact enough for a true conservative like Duncan Hunter to move to the front in 2008.
