A storm surge on or near a full moon would be the worst. I think that's what happened in the Blizzard of 93.
It is flight level, but it's also in the SE quad... winds are probably stronger in the NE quad.
More often than not, my german shepherd headed for the bathtub also. Invariably, it was a thunderstorm headed our way. With their hearing, he knew it long before I did.
Have they been to the NE quad yet on this run?
NOW a CAT 4!
That's almost as scary as having a cat4 hurricane bearing down on you. :(
I suppose you're going to have to deal with floating bodies of the dead ( buried prior to Katrina).
They'll be picking bodies out of trees having to do a test to see if they were already embalmed.
"No, the media says they are 13 feet"
I thought I heard they were 15 feet but have settled to more like 13 feet.
Weather Channel says it is being pumped up to a CAT4
I have lots of help. Good night all.
Roger that.
Not sure, but I see a met posted on easternuswx.com that a special adv will be out shortly, upping winds to 145mph.
Sorry projecting on myself.I have no clue who this woman is.
I tend to agree.
145 MPH winds gusts over 170.
CATEGORY FOUR NOW!
Good Lord in Heaven. This thing has all day tomorrow and nothing but warm water in front of it to get to Cat5. GEEZ!
This is like watching a slow train wreck. You see the car on the tracks... you see the train coming... and there's nothing you can do.
I hope everyone in the New Orleans area is packing up tonight preparing to leave, if they haven't already. This is getting scary.
Prayers for all those in the path of Katrina.
The atlantic is about 86 up here right now.......as is the Chesapeake - I don't know the temp of the Delaware, but I wouldn't be surprised if it's in the 80s as well.
Could it sustain a Cat5? I have no idea. But even a minimal 1 coming up either Bay would do horrendous damage, not just on the shores, but inland because of all the tributasries and rivers off of both bays.
Told you guys earlier...I'm predicting Cat 5 on this monster.
