Snakes and Turtles KNOW SOMETHING.
This means more to me than all the scientific forecasting.

most people didn;t know this..
i will repeat what a said a few hours ago..the models and NHC track have been dead on this year within 72 hours...and NOAA aircraft have been flying around the gulf collecting extra data to put into the models...all the models are tighly clusted as well of the ensemble(sp?) runs...
LOOK HOW HUGE IT IS NOW http://weather.msfc.nasa.gov/GOES/goeseastconusir.html
To: who knows what evil?
I'd rather be watching this Katrina about now. Much more benign.

Nah, I am in Sorrento. I should be pretty good here. Fingers crossed.

Complaints about pumps not working and not enough generators to pump the water out, and that was a TS.Right............ slightly different this time.

Coastal animals have been seen leaving in droves. The feds are stepping up to move along the heretofore suggested evac of NO.
Everything is pointing to a direct NO strike by a major Cat 4 hurricane.
It's ugly.

Wow - they're all converging close to NO. Given the amount of energy here, a near miss is as bad as a hit.

Yes they do.
They knew about the tsunami last year also. Herds of elephants headed for the hills....

It is not going to be pretty. I just pray that these folks understand what is heading their way and leave. I live in the southwestern part of the state but as soon as I heard that the storm was expected to cross into the Gulf, I started making preparations and taking care of things in order to get out if necessary.
I at least live where there are enough back ways north to get out of danger without being stuck in traffic, NO doesn't have that many options.
To: NautiNurse
This is true.
...they've done it here (Florida) before an evacuation.
