Salt Lake City Mayor Rocky Anderson (with his BIG, BIG agenda) must utterly despise the Mormons who elected him, looking upon them as cockroaches to be crushed, hating their belief system.

Why don't they just offer benefits to any twosome, like two unmarried sisters who want to take advantage of medical benefits? Or a brother and sister? Or two unrelated adults?
How are any of those less valid as a "partnership" than a gay couple?
Not that I approve, mind you. I'm just picturing where this is going. Benefits for anyone and anything, as long as it's two. And when the bigamist/polygamist lobby gets some political muscle it will call for benefits for any configuration no matter how bizarre.

"A report, conducted by the Public Employees Health Program for Salt Lake City's Department of Human Resources, shows that extending health benefits to domestic partners would cost the city between $38,000 and $113,000." ROTFLMAO!!!! When Arizonans passed Prop 200 to give the poor, hungry and thristy "free healthcare," the Democrats said they had a "study" that showed it would only cost Arizona 40 million bucks. It's now bankrupting the state.

Well, he does seem to treat Adrian more like a family member than a spouse. I always suspected he was gay.

It certainly isn't fair to allow benefits only to people who are having sex together. Or whatever.
Why discriminate against sisters, or a sister and brother, or parent and adult child, or two good friends?
And, come to think of it, why limit it to two?
And do they have to be human? Veterinary bills are high.

Salt Lake City Mayor Rocky Anderson (with his BIG, BIG agenda) must utterly despise the Mormons who elected him, looking upon them as cockroaches to be crushed, hating their belief system. He was once one of them, which I think explains a lot. And the people, esp. if they are Mormons, they get what they voted for (at least twice, if I'm correct).
SLC does not have a Mormon majority; the last I heard it was 60+% non-Mormon.
Finally, speaking as an active, church goin', Temple attendin' Mormon, any Mormon that voted for him should take out the "m" in the middle of the word Mormon...cuz that's what they are!
