Accountability is now officially denied.

If Porter Goss is in the pocket of the powers that be,, this is all for nought.
3,000 plus dead on that fateful day, and how many more since then, becuz some seek to continue to cover-up the sickness that resides in the body politic still alive and kickin' inside the Beltway.
Shame knows no bounds when it comes to politics, it would seem.

Let's open up the 9/11 Ommission Commission again and take care of them all at the same time.

Despite public outcries for accountability, many in the intelligence community believe Goss would be loath to try to discipline popular former senior officials and cause unrest within the agency.Note to Goss: It can't get any worse.

DITTO THAT. I am sure Mr. Goss will be prominent in the upcoming Able Danger hearings. I hope he is preparing for them as of now.

Those who discussed the report with the AP all spoke on condition of anonymity because it remains highly classified and has been distributed only to a small circle in Washington. Ah, could THAT be the problem?

When the so called 'families' demand the details of enAble Danger then and not before will they have any credibility.

You posted "Accountability is now officially denied."
And I asked you where you read an official denial.

Under the new wiring diagram, Negroponte can overrule Goss.
I would expect that the CIA should do some housecleaning...especially if it's shown that MI was using techniques that DID Identify Atta and other 9/11 cell members.
That should generate (at a minimum) the end of careers for anyone who refused to implement similar data mining processes in the CIA.
One difference between CIA and DOD is the absolute need by generals for accurate real-time information. In other words, the MI is immediately accountable for real intelligence products for battlefield use.
The CIA is a theoretical ediface of late, and politics became its byword moreso than did threat assessment, interdiction, and prevention.
There should be some effort to restore real-world urgency and accountability to the CIA.

A CIA officer in the 1960s, Goss must now decide whether the current and former agency personnel should be considered for sanctions. This writer must be a newbie, or at least young and clueless.
To a "CIA officer in the 1960s" the term "sanctions" has a very specific and... unhealthy connotation for those being so treated.
A terminal connotation.
