The intention was to ensure jurors are being instructed "in a way they can understand," Corrigan said. "if the glove doesn'r fit,
you must acquit"

Good policy.
A lot of public has no interest in and are lost on legal jargon and legal mumbo jumbo. This policy ought to be extended to be used in tax laws/forms and other government forms, and including real-estate forms and documents.
When someone is being tried/accused it's imperative that jurors understand everything.
I think it's good, common sense policy.

California juries are fine ... but we have to "deal with" racial prejudices against convicting young black men. Exactly.
And that is what the verdict in the OJ case was all about.

Earlier this month when interviewed by John Ziegler on KFI640, Sen. Tom McClintock promised to draw up a bill to address the Jackson's jury issue of profiteering by extending the 90 day moratorium to at least a year. I forget what other provisions were being considered.
Having served CA criminal jury duty I have to say it's amazing justice is ever handed out. The vapidity of some who get into the box is toe curling. The Jackson and other rogue celebrity juries are representative of CA juries in my experience. I'm reminded of the Alejandro Avila case where he was let go by one jury on child molestation charges. He went out and killed 5-yr Samantha Runnion. And then there is what was said up thread about the trouble with racial bigotry preventing justice in misguided sympathy for a perp's skin tone.
