I give them about 5 years before Congress cripples...err regulates them.
Their commercials with the annoying song and funny videos are pretty good. I wish them well.
Yeah, I like their commercials too.
Well, you know, people do stupid things.
I'm on the verge of shooting my television every time those annoying Vonage commercials come on.
Go out in the woods, set your TV up on a stump, and fell a tree on top of it, like the guy who drops a tree on his car. :)
Every key congresscritter will be offered 'in' on the IPO. That's the way it works! 'Course the major longdistance carriers will be throwing gobs of money at their PAC's in response...
Happy Vonage customer here.
The traditional copper twisted pair (last mile)voice service will go away to to be replaced with a data service "pipe" to provide data, voice, video...
They do give you a big clue about the type of people who would fall for the Vonage story.
The guy isn't even 35 years old yet and he's going public with another company.
Just shows you what street smarts and no college education can do.
How come when I talk to my friend who has Vonage...All's I
hear is a "tinny echo"?????? Sounds like a bad echo surpressor to me...since I was a voice ntwk mgr for quite some time I was a little dissapointed....
Love vonage.
Local Number, Local Number in another area code for relatives, Unlimited Long Distance, Every other feature in the book.
35$
And yes my 911 works, I tested it.
SBC can kiss my A$$ ($74 for the same things minus the extra number)
Well, "Woo-ooo, hoo-hoo-hoo! Woo-ooo, hoo-hoo-hoo!"
I have used Vonage for over a year now and it is Great!
Except when you need to get a live support person on the phone. Of course that is not much different from the major phone companies.
Most problems are taken care of by rebooting the phone modem.
Even if you decide to get Vonage for a seperate phone line and make all your longdistance calls on it, the service is worth 24.95 a month.
There is a fee to take toll calls off your land line but it is worth it.
Happy Vonage customer here!

I would also start thinking from what you describe a bad echo suppressor but I would think in might be where your call from the PSTN interconnect with the Vonage network.... I would have you friend contact Vonage and have them tract the route of you call to try to isolate (Yea I know that going to claim it not there problem just like any other ptt)...I did network backbone for an international data and voice carrier for years...PTT finger pointing and buck passing is SOP the world over
Ya know what....good question....."does anyone else have the same problem"????? Drrrrrrrr....why didn't I ask him already?????? Anyway....I'm a "switched network ex-manager"...so...I have alot to learn about wireless service and VOIP....I just got hired with Verizon Wireless and I'm so happy!!!!! I'm going to "sink my teeth" into this network and learn as much as I can to get my butt back into the NOC where I worked for 8 years with another carrier before getting laid off......ciao.....:-)
