the worldwide production of oil peaks and begins a rapid decline It won't be a sharp peak nor a rapid decline. The main concern is sweet crude that is easy to produce. Other oil is not so preferred but is more common. The main effect will be an increase in the cost of oil products, which may quadruple in the following decade.
