Who will landscape your yard, who will cook your food, who will wash your car, who will bus your tables?

Who do you think did these jobs before the illegal alien invasion? Americans, many of them teenagers, that's who. Then the new class of slave labor arrived, working for less, taking these jobs away, and leaving us with paying for their support.

By the way, in our home, WE do all of the above described jobs ourselves, and if we need someone to cut down a tree, we hire Americans to do it.

California will never revert back to Republican. The pluses you mention are far outstripped by the minuses. But it's always nice to dream and no harm in being optimistic.

New Donk voters will swamp the Republicans you mention. 80% of these voters will be immigrants (legal/illegal) and the offspring of these immigrants. Immigrants vote Donk.

It will not. All that growth in the western Sierras Lemura mentioned is from flight from CA's coastal cities, flight in most cases caused by the changing urban/suburban environments due to the rapid influx of foreigners.

I know we're not supposed to notice, but thats what it is.

As anyone who is married/and or pays a mortgage knows (outside of the Bay Area - LA is Dem due to aspiring thespians ie renters), it's a pretty sure bet that they will vote R.

And as anyone who lives in California knows (as I do), the State Legislature is now solidly Democratic whereas as recently as 11 years ago both houses were Republican, the Congressional delegation is majority Democrat whereas as recently as 15 years ago one of our Senators was Republican, the state that as recently as 1988 voted for a Republican for President now is regularly counted in the Democratic column in Presidential elections before the campaign even begins, and the Governorship has been trending strongly Democrat with the Davis recall an all-too-brief respite. And it's all because the middle class that votes Republican has been moving out and illegals that can't vote but who do vote anyway---the Democrat ticket---are moving in. All your feel-good real estate boom tripe doesn't change those basic political facts-on-the-ground here in California.

Would you rather that your kids grew up to be doctors or landscapers?

I would be just as proud of my child either way as long as they made an honest living. I find it a bit racist to feel that Mexicans should be the ones to do laborious jobs while children of native born Americans should hold white-collar jobs.

California is Exhibit "A" in the case against the Republican pipe dream that if you just let in enough immigrants from South of the Border, they'll guarantee Republican electoral victories.

I just want to salute your many good posts on this thread. With some real meat on them.

And it's all because the middle class that votes Republican has been moving out and illegals that can't vote but who do vote anyway---the Democrat ticket---are moving in.

If they don't have enough equity to upgrade to the coast, then middle-class families are moving out of the valleys to either the deserts and/or western Sierra. The people who are moving in are Hispanics & Asians; the basic point is whether or not they are homeowners.

As a side comment, Asians are great since they bring in all that foreign currency. Fountain Valley is probably 50%; we've had a few move into HB paying top dollar.

Since you mentioned that you're from SD, you really believe that the future residents of those 5,000 new homes along El Camino in Carlsbad are going to vote Dem? People vote their economic interests - job holding, mortgage paying, kid schooling folks tend to vote R.

Good one.

Then, too, quisling does seem to translate much better into sock puppet and parrot, in both of which Dane appears to be proficient.

No offense, but your response makes absolutely no sense.

Want to try again?

"My strong gut feeling is that he doesn't have a principled belief in what he spews here anyway: he's just a hack..."

GOP RINOs, liberals and moderates have no principles other than a cult-like belief in "the party" above all. The party hacks, like bayourod, follow all instructions and talking points issued by party central. Other than this, they believe in nothing.

"...who for whatever reason (compensation? party loyalty?) is pushing the open borders line on FR.

No question that bayourod is the single most active pro-illegal alien poster at FR. It almost seems as if it's his only job. The zeal with which he goes about his pro-illegal post-spammimg can only be rationalized by, as you said, compensation or party loyalty (actually, in this case, I would guess it's primarily Bush loyalty).

"And FR, despite the occasional suspension, is letting him do it."

Many of us remain puzzled by this. It makes no sense for a conservative site like FR to put up with the likes of the quislings. But it does. The question is why.

He's been here since 3/22/2000, which was, if I'm not mistaken, just a little while after GW had clinched the Republican nomination. Interesting timing, especially since I've seldom seen him post about anything other than illegals and why they should be coddled.

That date may well be the key here.

"Sorry, I don't buy the line that people oppose illegal laborers simply because they are illegal."

It looks like you're implying that those that oppose illegal aliens are racists. I know how you object when people suggest that you've posted such a sentiment so could you please clarify the meaning of that statement?
