We discussed this yesterday at lunch; let's hope he changes his strategy a little regarding this matter.

"He'll try to drive the point home with speeches in upcoming days in Utah and Idaho." Um, chalk this up to "protecting your base?" I guess there aren't any protestors in Utah and Idaho.

"Our troops know that they're fighting in Iraq, Afghanistan, and elsewhere to protect their fellow Americans from a savage enemy," Have we forgotten that? No one seems to mention it anymore.

The reason they have not attacked the homeland again is because they know we are divided over the war in Iraq. From their point of view, why would they want to cause us to be united?

With respect, it's about time we heard from the Commander In Chief. I hope he comes with arguments blazing.

In the Democratic address, Cleland also brought up the Sept. 11 attacks to remind Americans that al-Qaida terror group leader Osama bin Laden has yet to be captured. If Democrats and the so-called mainstream media got with the program rather than sounding like Taliban-light......then this war would wind up very fast.

Shoot...the MSM just needs to show 5 minutes of REAL film from the 9/11 attacks...and the whole anti-war crowd will be silenced....

A Yahoo headline screams " Bush invokes 9-11 to defend Iraq War". It should read "Bush defends Iraq war against Al Queda sympathizer mom and US media".

Hey WH comm team:
We need personal stories and successes! The MSM hasn't reported the good stuff out of Iraq; the public is *hungry* for good news - how about some commercials covering the last year, each one an example of some "heroic act" or "what we are accomplishing".
Cause you guys are underperforming. Best talent, worst results. WTH?

Maybe Bush should spend five days DEFENDING HIS PRO-ILLEGAL-MEXICAN-OPEN-BORDER policy. That might help his credibility too. (/sarcasm)

"Cleland, who noted that he lost three limbs serving in Vietnam..."Was that under the Kennedy administration or under the Johnson administration?
These lefty-liberals are unbelievable. The don't have a historical clue. It wouldn't surprise me if they can even remember their own birth date!

It's AP...between the AP and Reuters...you'd think WE were the Germans in WWII....what pisses me off...The Stars & Stripes has 90% of their world news coming from the AP and Reuters....
