Most Dems who are seriously interested in keeping their jobs or in running for office are distancing themselves from Sheehan. They know the reason they haven't been able to win against Republicans is because they allowed the left to take over their party and they are running scared.

Dem operatives at this point are like a stuntman with one foot on the roof of a car driving down the street and the other foot on the roof of another car driving next to it -- and he feels the two cars starting to veer apart.
