What you are describing is not so much a lack of interdisciplinary teaching, but lying in the form of omission and manipulative presentation by probably too-many educators.

Lying by omission is the correct term for what is going on in higher education, not only in the area of science but in most other disciplines as well.

Most conservatives are well aware of what's been going on among liberal elites to warp young minds towards liberalism by deceit and manipulation. It seems that the scientists around here are the exception.
