No, this was a story about a family on a African Safari. That's a very sad story. I'm kind of glad I didn't find that one. :-/

I haven't gone through the whole thread yet but does anyone know if this was a school sanctioned photo shoot???I think they were doing it on their own. Fox News just showed a photo of "an older sister" with one of the lions taken several years ago. The man who owned the tigers is/was a family friend, and they said he is extremely upset and distraught.

Hyenas are a particularly dastardly species, in my opinion. Tigers are beautiful creatures. Yeah, and if you ask me, all of them can just stay in Africa where they feel right at home. When I walk out to sit in my deer stand, I have no desire to be looking over my shoulder. The Africanized Killer Bees are enough to think about as it is!

The Cheetah is my favorite big cat. So much so, I have a tattoo of a 'deco' cheetah on my ankle. These are such noble creatures- and incredible mothers. I love their 'chirp-bark' when calling young.

Tigers are from Asia. Lions are from Africa. Just wanted to clarify.

Very sad.
I thought I heard on Fox this morning that she was standing next to the tiger and it licked her foot.
It frightened her and she screamed.
It must have set the tiger off.

While I was in Korea in 1968 a Tiger (yes there are Tigers in Korea) came into this village near our demo-range. It grabbed one of the children and carried it several miles. They found the child with not a scratch on him. A miracle

I won't even do the swimming with dolphins thing. Dolphins are usually pretty people friendly, but there are more than a few cases of dolphins working pretty hard to drown swimmers and divers.
They can be nasty, unpleasant animals when they feel like it. Like chimps, their public persona often conflicts with their actual disposition.

Pretty much all cats are my favorites. I'm a Leo, have four feisty female felines and drive a Jaguar. Not this Jaguar,

AARRGGHHH ... this is what they do...they're supposed to be trained and I'm sure pictures have been taken hundreds of times with this animal. But CRAP happens. Maybe it was her smell.. or the color she was wearing. Who knows. It's a tragedy all around.

Depends on the local state law and age of consent.

Hyenas are a particularly dastardly species, in my opinion. Bad rap. Hyenas are amazing, if bizarre. Stone cold killers, predators as efficient as any of the big cats. Jaws like a hydraulic press. Sort of like a 200lb pitbull, with an attitude.
Scary sounding bastards too.

Good lord how stupid can you be. Dangling a child out of a window with lions about?
"What were they thinking" hardly seems adequate. Apparently they watched "Born Free" one too many times.

Morons used to be bred, now they are made in public schools.
