Diversion from the homefront disasters.
Paying $2.89 for a gallon of gas bothers me.
A wide-open Southern border bothers me.
Watching idiot politicians make excuses for both REALLY bothers me.

Just because John Duncan and Wayne Gilchrest are RINO sissies doesn't mean they're right.

They are mostly quoting people. Do you think the quotes are lies?

Look at the spokespimples interviewed.. LOL
Newly Neutereds Gingrich and Gilchrest..
----
Representative Wayne T. Gilchrest, a Maryland Republican who originally supported the war but has since turned against it, said he had encountered "a lot of Republicans grousing about the situation as a whole and how they have to respond to a lot of questions back home."
"I have been to a lot of funerals," Mr. Gilchrest said.

And when the battles shift from Iraq to the Homeleand, we look forward to attending yours as well, Congresscritter.

Maybe they should go out and find some good Iraq news.
To: Crackingham
of course it is a worry as are gas prices
we will need some good PR soon but it is August 05 not Oct 06 so there is time for good news to make us feel more optimistic

Morale is high among the troops in Iraq and the vast majority of them voted for the president. They're the ones doing the fighting and, yes, the dying. They believe in the mission. They believe they're doing good work in Iraq and making progress. And they are.
But not to worry, the NYT REALLY knows what's going on these days in Iraq.
What incredible BS. When would these whining maggots, at the NYT, agree to fight for their country? Was not the deaths of three-thousand people nearly on its doorstep enough? Good Lord save us from these moral relativists and cowards.
I'm fairly cranked up today. Sorry, everyone.

"There is just no enthusiasm for this war"
Like there is enthusiams for any war where true Americans die.
Looking back the past half century, the only enthusiastic people during wars are those democrats who started most of them for their own benefit (or in Johnson's case - fun?).
To: Crackingham
If the Iraq news is bad in 06, then the country will want to put new mgmt in place. It is reasonable. Now if the Dems run a moderate who is not anti-war, they will have a chance. McCain also has a chance and those he supports.
The 'Bush wing' of the party will be hurt severely.

The concern here is about the Conservatives quoted in the article.

While John Duncan is wrong in his opposition to the war, he is anything but a RINO. He is one of the most consistently conservative representatives in the House. Even though I disagree with his Iraq stance, he has been consistent in his opposition, which is more than I can say for some reps who get down on the war because public support wanes.
To: Crackingham
"There is just no enthusiasm for this war," said Representative John J. Duncan Jr., a Tennessee Republican who opposes the war. "Nobody is happy about it.""Who the hell is "happy" about a war? This jackass is pulling a Kerry stunt. (shaking head)

This is a stupid statement.
Of course it worries the GOP. They want Iraq to be secure and sovereign.

Do you have an opinion on this post? Seems like you post a lot of articles but never give your opinion or respond in the thread. Just curious.
