Wow! Powerful stuff! Next they might go so far as to pass a resolution telling the drug gangs in Nuevo Laredo to stop shooting all the Chiefs of Police there.

Laredo may be leading the way for other border cities who are looking to stop self- help groups from taking immigration laws into their own hands

That right there was all I had to read to know that this was nothing more than a hit piece full of garbage.

The Minutemen do not advocate taking the law into their own hands in the least. They follow all laws and simply report those who are breaking the law to the proper authorities. With this attitude, the city of Laredo might as well do away with all neighborhood watch programs and turn the streets over to the criminals.

The city council of Laredo passes a resolution to the effect of saying the Minutemen group is not welcome? Is there a possibility that their under the table and off book income is at risk?

"They are not welcomed. It's not like they have free reign to come in and do whatever they want. They still have to follow the law like everybody else, said Councilman Jose Valdez Jr.

So Jose it is OK for your fellow countrymen to ignore our laws but not OK for Americans to protect their country peacefully?

As a matter of fact, isn't it AGAINST THE LAW to witness a crime and not report it?

The Minute men are actually following the law.

Anything stand out here?

What? The fact that Laredo is mostly hispanic? here, from wikipedia:

"The racial makeup of the city is 82.27% White, 0.37% African American, 0.44% Native American, 0.46% Asian, 0.03% Pacific Islander, 13.94% from other races, and 2.49% from two or more races. 94.13% of the population are Hispanic or Latino of any race."
