I've taken falls and been thrown by horses. Due the injuries she incurred.. seems to me like she was thrown. Hope she heals well. I had this horse once who was rabidly spooked by the open trunks on cars.. and whoa! Who knew?

Actually, the headline of the article is mis-stated. She did not injure herself while riding the horse. If she had continued to ride the horse, she wouldn't have hurt herself at all. Apparently, she injured herself when she left the horse, rather abruptly.
