And he works so cheap.
Thanks for posting her picture. What a sweet looking child. I pray there might be a miracle and she might survive and be whole again.

I do agree that illegal aliens need to be deported. However, NO ONE should have 5 DWIs and be loose on the streets. At what point do we admit that the person won't or can't follow the law and not drive under the influence? There are several people culpable in this one.

For that, we need facts and numbers.
They aren't good - brace yourself.
300,000 to 1

Though North Carolina has an estimated 300,000 illegal immigrants, the state has one federal deportation officer who's among fewer than 10 people in the state who work for Detention and Removal Operations, a unit of ICE.
LEO's have more important things to do... and MANY of them DRINK AND DRIVE!
This problem starts and ends right at the Federal Government. This is where the root of this whole thing is.
I bet he wasn't in the .08 to .10 BAC range either.
Meanwhile both our major parties stand about with their pants down around the ankles.
If 9-11 couldn't break their inertia I don't know what would.
I am sick of seeing daily articles like this..I am sick of seeing Americans being slaughtered at the hands of illegal aliens.
They may have their pants down, but it's not in Washington, D.C. (right now at least) . ."Meanwhile both our major parties stand about with their pants down around the ankles."

"21-year-old Marin Gomez was driving drunk"
I've had the occasion to drive around in Mexico on three different trips. To say that a Mexican street or highway is no place for one who values their life is an understatement. When you add alcohol to that equation, you have a very volatile mix.
We are seeing more and more public intoxications/drunk driving arrests in our area with Hispanic surname arrestees. This is not anything I would like to continue to import.
I have been to Mexico on vacation and ridden in cars on their city roads (this was in Ixtapa/Zijuatinajo). It was a free for all, and scared me silly. If people learned to drive there, I'm not surprised that they are involved in many accidents. I wonder what they have to do to get a US driver's lisence (if they have one)? Clearly they don't require them to prove they can drive.

That says more than anything that the govt at whatever level has zero desire to do anything about the problem. I must be feeling something akin to what our forefathers felt when they decided to revolt and seperate themselves from England.

The courts (or state legislatures) are also at fault. Sure, this illegal alien shouldn't have been here in the first place. But, in addition, there were 5 opportunities to either get him out of here OR lock him up.
But, you're right, if the feds were doing their job instead of sitting on their hands, the problem would be solved.
