Where's one a them August gully washer Texas storms when you need it? A little flash flood would clean that squatters camp up real nice.

Lol. Actually, I'd bet he's a FReeper.

Not amoung the more the more reasonable here, or "in" with intellectual-right, mind you. But one of those hard headed types. Unreachable with reason, and giving all of us who are working hard to bring about change a bad name.

Its doofs like this that the left uses as reference points to what the Right stands for.

That ticks me off.

My hubby said he wished we were the President's neighbors. He would have sprayed lots of manure on our land next to Sheehan's camp.

You have to give some credence to the purpose of these crosses. They werent placed there to honor the soldiers but to act as a visual aid to expand on the crazy ideas of these liberal POS people who have nothing better to do than camp out with this whacko.

Although I dont espouse what this guy did , I can understand the rerasons he did it , He has a bellyful of this scumbag and her brown nosers. We all do. We all have a bellyful of the liberals who run a daily tally of soldiers who die in Iraq for their political purposes.

Actually, I'd like to see one of these protesters jump out in front of the president's limo to try and stop him. The secret service would use the SOB for a speed bump.

Here's some insight into roadside crosses in Texas.

Homemade Roadside Death Memorials In Limbo In Texas

According to a story in PR Week, homemade highway death memorials -- which show up on the side of the highway, commemorating where loved ones have been killed in a traffic accident, and usually including plastic flowers, small whirligigs, and a small cross for each person killed--may or may not be a violation of Texas policy.

This past summer, highway workers in the town of Tyler caused a stir when they removed some of these markers, claiming that they did not meet state criteria. The Texas DOT first responded to the Tyler hubbub by issuing a moratorium on further removal of homemade highway death memorials, while drafting a proposal to standardize the memorials on breakaway poles, which would be left up for 2 and 1/2 years, then given to the families of the deceased. This proposal would have expanded a policy first negotiated in 1986 with MADD to allow memorials for those killed in non-alcohol-related accidents.

However, on the week before Thanksgiving, after an emotionally charged public meeting, The Texas Transportation Commission has "tossed a hot PR potato back to its staff by indefinitely tabling a proposal on roadside memorials." The state worries about people who put themselves at risk tending to the homemade highway death memorials along busy roadways, while some fear that the memorials themselves constitute a safety hazard. Thirteen states already regulate homemade highway death memorials. [12/03/2000]

This guy was a complete moron and I'm amazed there are people here who would support or defend him.

And before you flame me, whose cause do you think his actions are going to help?

Sheehan says she will not pay Federal taxes

Yeah, THAT'll be effective. No wonder her husband's divorcing her--he's probably getting her name off the bank account and house so he doesn't end up losing them because of her.

I feel so sorry for her remaining son, who wants his mother to come home. Fat lot of concern she has for him--or her husband.

Still not the thing to do; that's more the thuggest kind of activity that the left is so well known for.

I'm starting NOT to agree with this. One can only turn their cheek so many times until it come time to hit back. If a bully knows that they can get away with slapping you ... they will continue to slap you until you grow some and hit back ... IMO it is WAY past that time

Here's what the left really thinks of Christian crosses. In response to the Pope's call for crucifixes in public buildings: "Crucifix urinal cakes ... I'm gonna make a mint!"

Here's what the left really thinks of soldiers. They are "thugs and murderers".

In the world of the left, crosses symbolizing dead soldiers are nothing but pawns in a political game. They have no feeling for either the cross as a Christian symbol or for the soldiers killed in Iraq.

It's a tough issue, all right. I, too, believe that turning the other cheek only works when the hitter has the ability to feel shame, the precursor to changing one's ways. The extreme leftists in this country have no such ability. Any effort to appease them or give them the benefit of the doubt is futile--they simply seize on it as another weapon to use against us. In my judgment they're as savage and unreachable as the Islamofascists.

That said, whatever we do to fight them has to be effective. Driving through their camp just increases their perception of their own victimization, and their feelings of righteousness.

Barring a divine flood to carry them all away, do you have any suggestions? I'd love to find a way to embarrass them and turn them into laughingstocks in the eyes of other Americans. I do think they're marginalizing themselves, but it's infuriating to watch the MSM promoting their cause.

This story has nothing to do with Roadside memorials to people killed in traffic accidents.

This is a story of war protesters using the names of dead GI's for the purpose of anti-war protests.

They are denigrating these soldiers for their own political purposes.

As for Roadside memorials to those killed in accidents, that has become a bit over played also. A cross with a persons name on it might serve some useful purpose in preventing auto accidents by pointing out the fact that driving is dangerous and that people can die from others mistakes, but some of these memorials go way overboard.

this is an aside, but

an encampment Sheehan has dubbed "Camp Casey"

what a promoter. a shameless one. her son probably thought it was an honor to serve and make the ultimate sacrifice for his country. she's telling the world, "he was a fool. it was a waste." how sickening.

Running over the crosses is one thing. Riding over out-houses would be another.

This guy should be awarded both cheeks and the hole for the stupidest act of the year.

I believe that you are exactly right ... these people have NO shame and no shame based response will deter them from their anti-American ways. However, I believe there are at least two other issues in play here. First ... this is the drivers home (Texas that is). The leftists are uninvited guests who are basically trashing America in their backyard. Second ... from what I understand they are putting these crosses up with names of fallen military members without their permission. If my son / nephew / cousins name appeared on one of those crosses and I lived near by ... I would have driven over them too

It is my opinion and suggestion that these Cindy protestors be made as unwelcome as possible by the locals. I feel it's like a stray dog that craps on your front lawn every morning. You can yell at him all you like but every morning he's back to do his business on your lawn BUT shot him in the ass once or twice with a BB gun and he'll get the message
