Ok, let us assume that it is true that one third of teenage suicides are homosexuals. Since homosexuals are only about 3% of the total population, would that not lead one to believe that homosexuals are already predisposed to mental illness resulting in irrational behavior, ie: suicide.

I have heard this argument before but have yet to see actual homosexual activity among any animals.I have seen such activity, interestingly it was among waterfowl. Ducks specifically. Ducks do not strike me as very intelligent - they have a strong libido in the springtime but don't have the smarts to tell the difference between male and female ducks. The male ducks basically jump on anything that looks like a duck, regardless of gender, and hope for the best. I should note that these trysts look very violent, with the penetrating male jabbing the neck of his male or female partner with his beak very violently. If I had to compare it to human behavior, I'd say these ducks are rapists. Yet this is "natural." This is why it is so silly to use animal behavior as justification for human behavior. Lots of nasty behaviors come naturally to animals - does that mean people should emulate them?

In the original Globe story, they noted that the city typically gets female swans only because male swans may be too aggressive towards tourists, etc...
But then again, given that it was a Globe story, they could have been making that up.

Thanks, I find that interesting and your opinion right on. It is truly bizarre that people use animals to claim legitimacy for their behavior.
Personally I really don't care what a person does, but don't force me or my family to accept it. I will treat all individuals with due respect but will never legitimize homosexual behavior. That being said a person is more than just a sexual being so being homosexual does not in my mind invalidate other qualities of that person.
