I predict this will work out as well as that group of "conservatives" that decided to try to stop Rep-Elect Schmidt in OH-2.....which is to say it won't....

Funny, I never heard of this group until today. Still, it's a good way to get MSM attention.

If the Boston Globe is against him, I am for him.
If NARAL is against him, I am for him.
If Chuckie Schumer and Spector are against him, I am for him

This kind of idiocy needs to be stomped out on our side. Unfortunately, we seem to have our share of intolerant wing-nuts who don't understand that the next Supreme Court jurist needs to be more importantly a man of quality and character, more than he/she need be Conservative.
Give me a good man first, and his politics should come naturally.

They have every right to oppose him, especially since judges make all the key cultural decisions these days. But ultimately, it will just make the guy look like a moderate and aid his confirmation. I wouldn't worry about it if you are pulling for confirmation.

The liberals know they can't defeat Roberts so they're going to try to get the conservatives to do it for them.
He spent a few hours writing something that discussed how to argue a case before the Supreme Court and then played Justice Scalia in mock rehearsals. Big deal. I would be worried if he had taken the role of Ginsburg or Breyer.

As with seemingly every other Freeper (as this was posted earlier), I have never heard of this group.
Nor have I seen any information published on exactly what the case was, Roberts role, and what the result of the case was. Any help would be appreciated.

RDB3 said it best. That article by the LAT was a "heat seeking missle" and the nuts like Farah have made it their cause....

Well, at least this makes it harder for Schumer et al to paint Roberts as a right-wing extremist, since the real right-wing extremists oppose him. ;)

Useful idiots, IMHO. Go Roberts!!
To: Crackingham
This will just help Roberts confirmation.
There will always be paranoid kooks on the right who spend a lifetime distrusting the MSM. Yet, they will let their paranoia place more faith in a slanted L.A. Slimes article with biased sources over the judgment of President Bush.
It's the fruitcake wing of the GOP that puts blinders on Bush's stellar history when it comes to judges.
I have enough faith in President Bush not to treat him like he is a liar, because in order to go nuts on Roberts, you have to believe Bush is a liar.
Once you go there, I look at history with Dubya. He's steadfast and right on.

I wonder if Farah thought the sonic booms from the Shuttle landing was really the aliens pounding on their drums outside his house? :)

Supposedly the whole thing was leaked by the White House to make it that much harder for the 'Rats to stop the confirmation vote. I don't know if that's true, but I hope it is -- more outstanding strategery by Karl Rove and his Boss.
How funny is it that the LA & NY Slimers are reduced to trying to influence the RIGHT? They know that the LEFT is totally out of power!! BWAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!
To: mware
Spector is not opposed to him. The idea of favoring anyone your enemy supports seems logical, but then that is how we got Kennedy and O'Connor. Unfortunately, there is no real substitute for simply knowing the guy personally, and the only one who knows him that well is Bush, and the guys who work for him, Olsen, etc. We've just got to assume they did their jobs.
