REPLY:

Some in American are turning into an overly sensitive bunch of nitpickers.

Lets see:

The true American patriot, scarred but muscular six foot two, 250 pound red neck with burr haircut, in military style clothing (probably ex marine or Army Ranger veteran) speaking with a Western Appalachian twang, riding in a pickup truck, with two other bubas, listening to Merle Haggard, while his bubas continued ciphering a comic book, got out and kept her from moving away.

Damn, you've never had to make house calls down in the pobre barrio's or lived in New York City.

Lets see I was shoved at Wal Mart a few days ago by a very rude young Hispanic man.

Do you think that this was an intentional racial insult or just a kid in a big hurry to get the last package of cookies on the shelf.

I believe that Dan Rather is giving free lessons to CAIR on making up stories.

If the Islamic war intensifies and it becomes necessary for the USA to deport Muslims in mass we can shed a tear for lost liberty later... years after the war has been won.

All of this is academic anyway, your views will become irrelevant if any more large scale attacks occur.

Liberals, right wingers, moderates, everyone will be clamoring for the government to do something. Right or wrong, shameful or not, Muslims in this country will no longer be welcome if their fanatical brothers kill thousands again.

Rather than CAIR focusing on minor incidents like this they need to do everything they can to prevent another attack. They need to root out the evil among them. I doubt they will, because I believe they are infiltrated through and through.

Appeasers, you keep looking for the good in islam and the rest of us will just protect ourselves from it. Fair enough?

It's a pretty good strawman, but alas it is still just a strawman.

Where, for example, have I called for appeasement of the terrorists? (Hint: I never have.)

And how is it looking for "the good in Islam" to merely suggest that individuals have rights whether they're Christian or Islamic?

Do you even for 1 second believe and operation of that magnitude could happen with just 20 people involved?

On the outside, there were maybe 100 people involved in the 9/11 attack, in this country and elsewhere.

There are cities in this country that sound the call to prayer 5 times a day.

AFAIK, there are no cities in this country that sound the call to prayer. There are, of course, mosques that do so. What's your point? Islam is a small religion in this country, and will remain so.

Oh, and India is now roughly 20% muslim.

Are you proposing that the USA will be 25% Muslim (or anywhere close to that) in 25 years?

What is the percentage of muslims in France, or should I say francistan?

Somewhere between 5-10%.

Of course, expecting a backbone in a metrosexual is kind of like expecting snow in July.

I don't consider proposals to round people up en masse to have anything to do with "backbone."

I don't think many are saying that what SUSPOSEDLY happened is appropriate.

Bullying is never appropriate.

I believe most are upset that CAIR a known lying bunch of pig excrement is allowed to make up stories and many on this forum are dumb enough to take it as fact that it actually happened.

"By calling for declaration of a hate crime, the CAIR spokesman is calling for declaration of this as a Federal offense"

Agreed. muslims may be evil, but they aren't stupid. They know how to manipulate our systems against us. If they can arrange it so that anything involving a muslim is categorized a hate crime, they can take the offensive without fear. Imagine, a muslim instigates a fight with you, but you go to jail because it's a hate crime.

People like Modernman and r9eth will facilitate this, and then where will we be?

My point was... that we recovered just fine from something you would have said we would be lost over. Sometimes sacrifice is necessary in times of war. Kill or be killed. Niceties don't matter. Once conflict is over, we recover like we always have. We've recovered from "shameful" acts committed in every war. War is hell, not a game of touch football.

Play games all you want with your feel good nonesense while others, more rooted in reality, defend you and your children.

Do not presume to tell others what shames them

If you don't consider rounding up American citizens based on their racial background to be shameful, you're beyond help.

How many attacks by Japanese Americans were there in this country during WW2?

The Japanese Americans who were interned in Hawaii during WWII were quickly released when it became apparent that the Hawaiian economy would grind to a halt without them. Those Japanese Americans did not engage in any attacks. What does that tell you?

And interment ended when the war did- and the Constitution survived. We did the right thing to protect ourselves.

Protect ourselves? Most of the internees were American citizens, many of them native-born. Who, exactly, were we protecting ourselves from? Fellow Americans?

How many attacks by Japanese Americans were there in this country during WW2? We'll never know how much death and destruction internment prevented

There were not nearly as many Japanese Americans as there were immigrant or first-generation Germans, and yet the latter were not noted for their devotion to death and destruction.

If you want to replace your rank speculation with some real-world examples of Japanese American behavior during WWII, a good place to start looking might be the 442nd Regimental Combat Team.

The fact is, the internment of Japanese Americans -- many of whom were 3rd-generation Americans -- was indeed a national shame, in the same way that the Cherokee "Trail of Tears" is a national shame. It has long been recognized as such, across the political spectrum.

bump for that post.

Something tells me C.A.I.R anticipates something big soon and is warning his fellow slimes. Hell, there's probably encrypted instructions in the press release.

Tell me, what would be your response if these three had decided to accost your pregnant wife or sister? Assuming this story is true, you really have no problem with three men insulting and shoving a pregnant woman?

Do you think that this was an intentional racial insult or just a kid in a big hurry to get the last package of cookies on the shelf.

What the hell are you talking about?

My point was... that we recovered just fine from something you would have said we would be lost over.

Hmmm. The fact is that we needed to repent for the former, and generally acknowledge that the latter was at best a necessary evil.

We have not reached either point in our war against terrorists, despite the hue and cry raised by the bigots on this and other threads.

Play games all you want with your feel good nonesense while others, more rooted in reality, defend you and your children.

Oh, aren't you the manly man. You have no clue what you're talking about.

"I don't consider proposals to round people up en masse to have anything to do with "backbone.""

If the people in question to be rounded up follow a manual that teaches hate and intolerance. And the individual in question refuses to acknowledge said teachings. Then I'd propose there is a lack of intelligence, or a lack of backbone, or some combination of the two in said individual.
