Sheehan was blabbering on Tony Snow's show this morning.

Despite polite treatment by the show host, she bailed on him during a break when he wouldn't let her stick to her script.

Lok, forget all this rhetoric. Forget WMD and charges of lying. It's as simple as this. We could have fought them here in our streets, or moved the battlefield to the ME. Bush's strategy has worked well since 9/11. All of us regret any loss of life by our brave soldiers and workers. But America has been spared by a brilliant strategy of taking the war to the Arab lands.

P.S. The woman is a Progressive member. That is to say an ugly anti-American communist propagandist.

Drudge's sentiments that Sheehan was contradicting herself, perhaps for political reasons. Sheehan, in a press release distributed Monday by the Institute for Public Accuracy, explained she was "still in shock" during her 2004 meeting with the president. "We had decided not to criticize the president then because during that meeting he assured us, 'This is not political.' And I believed him," Sheehan wrote. "Then, during the Republican National Convention, he exploited those meetings to justify what he was doing. It's now clear to me that what I had feared is true: Bush lied us into war, and Casey, more than 1,800 other Americans and thousands and thousands of Iraqis are dead because of what he did."

In other words, she lied the first time because she thought Bush was "nice", and then when she decided he wasn't "nice" she told the truth.

What a lame-o excuse--everyone knew Bush meets with the families, and in the course of discussing the war, those meetings would come up. By her yardstick, whatever a president does is political, so how come it was ONLY when he mentioned the meetings was he suddenly a coal-black villain?

She reads her MoveOn talking points so well and now she's spinning--I predict she'll be running for office next, as she's already behaving like any other lying Democrat.

"It's important that readers see the full context of the story, instead of just selected portions," said Editor Diane Barney.

Okay. I read the whole story and was especially touched by the closing:

For a moment, life returned to the way it was before Casey died. They laughed, joked and bickered playfully as they briefly toured Seattle.

For the first time in 11 weeks, they felt whole again.

"That was the gift the president gave us, the gift of happiness, of being together," Cindy said.

Now, tell me, what part are we not understanding about her conversion from grieving Mom, moved by the President's words and gestures, to a Mom who is capitalizing on her son's death in an sad effort to redirect her grief to the man that she blames?

Cindy, you are being used and you are too wrapped up in your new found "friends" to recognize it.

Excellent point. However, it must be noted her useful idiot importance to the MSM/LEFT cannot be underestimated, in their attempt to make the WOT into another Vietnam.

The Ohio electoral race last week even featured the John Kerry antiwar wannabe phony.

What is most reprehensible is that MSM/Libs/RINOS are demeaning the service and sacrifice of our military by turning it into the Vietnam political theater of body counts, protests and ratings.

We cannot allow it to happen again.

Give a liberal a lie and they can be famous for a day. Teach a liberal to lie and they can be elected.

And boy does Hillary understand this principle.

She said she was "still in shock" over her son's death to explain why she told a different story in the Vacaville Reporter.

She sounds like Al Gore. At the 1996 Democrat convention he claimed that he turned against the tobacco industry when his sister died of lung cancer in 1984. When it was pointed out that he gave a fiery pro-tobacco speech at a tobacco growers' meeting in 1988, he explained that he was still in shock over his sisters' death at the time.

I wish the soldiers in Iraq could insist on a meeting with HER and tell her what her actions are doing to hurt them. You know that this is big on Aljezerra; her actions and words are causing MORE harm to those still in Iraq!

Exactly what does Sheehan think her son was volunteering for when he signed on the dotted line?

He signed up for the college benefits originally, but re-enlisted and personally volunteered (over the objections of his commander)to go on the mission that got him killed. She dishonors his service with this garbage. I read yesterday that her husband left her over this type of behavior.

I suppose that a parent is allowed to go "over the edge" on the loss of a child.

What's dispicable is the way that the lefties are using another American hero in their war against the nation.

I've kept from using the word mediawhore to describe her, having lost her son, but I'm not holding back anymore.

I know that people can call into a radio talk show, and claim to be anyone they want to be. With that caveat, this is interesting. I heard this on the radio about 40 minutes ago, and thought I would try to write it up while it was still fresh in my mind. If there are any errors below, it is due to my poor memory!!

Someone who says she is a distant relative of Sheehan just called in to a Conservative Talk Radio morning show here in the SF Bay Area (about 8:50am, Tuesday morning). She said that her name was Jenine (spelling??), that she is also from Vacaville (which is in the Bay Area), and that she has known Sheehan since they were in High School. She was on the Armstrong and Getty Show on KNEW.

They only had her on for a few minutes, and avoided delving too deeply into personal family matters. Basicly, Genine said that Sheehan "does not have a conservative bone in her body", and was against Bush even before her son was killed. Genine said that Sheehan "has NEVER given Bush a chance".

The radio hosts asked Jenine why Sheehan had been generally positive in her original views as expressed in the media a year ago (about her meeting with Bush), but is now saying the complete opposite. Genine honestly admitted that she did not know the reason for Sheehan's change of story, but she said that the way Sheehan is acting today is the "real" Sheehan.

Jenine further stated that Sheehan's son was very much in favor of what the USA is doing in Iraq, and that this was one of the reasons he re-enlisted.

The Armstrong and Getty asked her a little bit about family relations. Jenine was reluctant to go into too much detail, but she did say that she thought that another reason that Sheehan's son may have re-enlisted was to get away from his mother. She said the Sheehan is "very controlling".

Armstrong and Getty also asked her if Sheehan has a husband. Jenine hesitated and finally said something like "yes, sort of". She would not give further details, except to say that the death of their son has created "strain" between the two of them. Armstrong and Getty seemed to feel that they should not push her to reveal more family details than she was comfortable with, and so they let her off the phone after that.

This is my memory of the short phone conversation they had with Sheehan's distant relative. Take it for what it is worth, but if true and accurate, it fills in some interesting details about who Sheehan is, and what is motivating her.

In my opinion, this brief converstion, and Sheehan's recent behavior in the media, paint her as an extreme left-winger with a "Type A" personality, who is very "cause oriented". She seems to be using her son's death as a platform to espouse her own anti-American socialist worldview, and get attention for herself and her views in the process. Her fellow travellers in the news media seem to have no compunctions about using her as a tool to help spread their own similar views.

What a pity to turn the death of a real American into a "hate America" tool for such unpatriotic and un-American zealots.

When the terrorists read about people like this, it motivates them to kill more of our troops because that is how you can the best propaganda. More soldiers will die because of this woman's actions.
