I was pleasantly surprised to hear Mark Levin on at 6:00 tonight on WBAP!!!
I hope they decide to go with his show....I know they are "test driving" different hosts until they pick a permanent host to take Gary McNamara's spot...
BTW, did ya'll hear a while back that Mark Davis had been picked up to have a nationally syndicated show from the ABC affiliate in NY? I read that about 2 months ago...and they posted the time that his "national" show would be on....
and I remember thinking that it would interfere with the schedule they have now, with Rush and Hannity...so I don't know what is up with that...
Oh, you are so VERY right...he is smarmy and very condescending...
He has an "affected" way of speaking, like he knows all, and he is doing you a big favor by letting you listen to him.
I never, ever listen to his show...Laura Ingraham and Glenn Beck are opposite him. I was just questioning if any that listen to WBAP had hear the same rumor I had...I am actually hoping that if he DOES have a national show, the time slot would not "fit" in at WBAP, and he might not have as much time...he he
I remember a few years ago, he had a nationally syndicated show on Sunday afternoon.....and if failed, big time. There wasn't even any competition on Sunday!
"I am actually hoping that if he DOES have a national show, the time slot would not "fit" in at WBAP, and he might not have as much time...he he "
LOL I'm with ya on that! Such a Christian thing. Don't wish anyone any harm. Just wish they would go away... ;-)
Yeppers---no harm....just out of my listening range..LOL
(Suck-up bump - LOL!)
Seriously, David is great. We get him here every weekend on KSFO, and often for evening fill-ins.
Change that - a bump for the Oppressor! (GRIN)
Glad you are out there. My weekend shows can be heard online at ksfo.com. Sats & Suns. 3-6 Central and 1-4 Pacific.
DFW is home, and it is always great to be doing shows for WBAP. I will be doing the 8-9 PM hour Tues. and Wed. following my pal Mark Levin. ksfo.com.
Of course Free Republic is my second home.
I'm torn because I like David Gold and have listened to him for years, but I'm also friends with another contender for the time slot, Julia Duffy, a terrific Texas gal and very conservative stand-up comic who did her time in the liberal hellhole of Hollywood. She actually warmed up the crowd at "Designing Women" for years, so she has tons of hilarious stories about La-La Land liberals and Clinton suck-ups. I hope WBAP finds slots for both of them. I like some of the syndicated talkers, but we need more local people on Dallas radio. The talk stations around here are in danger of becoming too saturated with national shows.
I remember listening to you at KLIF, with Kevin McCarthy and Norm Hitges...a long time ago...
I would rather listen to you than Mark Davis....Davis is way to condescending...IMHO.
I am surprised that they are going to trot Davis out again considering how poorly his national show went last round.
I have tried several times to like, or for that matter tolerate, his show, but I cannot.
The last time I willingly listened to him, he was pontificating on something that he knew nothing about (as usual) when a guy called in. The guy said he had started out 35 years ago sweeping the floors and now owned the company. He told Mark that what he was saying was wrong. Mark never missed a beat... >click<
Exactly---that is just how Davis acts...
A caller better NEVER insinuate that he is wrong about anything...he not only will hang up, but he will bad mouth the caller afterwards...
I haven't listened in years...and it is even less likely that I would listen now that the D/FW area has more conservative talk stations...
Have you ever seen Davis when he gets on one of the cable TV channels....(rarely)....he just gives off this aura of "I am just the best thing since sliced bread"...I bet the TV reporters laugh at him during commercials!
I tried listening to his weekend national show, because I was hungry for some LIVE talk radio on the weekend...but, I couldn't take it.
BTW, I wish some station would put some good talk shows on LIVE on the weekend.
Where I live, I am lucky to have phone service good enough to get 26.4 dial-up let alone cable tv.
To cheap for a dish. Frankly, if it were up to me, I probably would not even own a TV.
I miss G. Gordon Liddy...
I remember her - she was the cute blonde. I didn't know she was a talk show host now.
Sorry, wrong Julia Duffy. I should've made it clear: there was another Julia Duffy who joined the show later in its run as an actress. The conservative comedienne/talk show host did the warmup and kept the audience up between scenes. She has the same name but was never on camera, and is a completely different person. Certainly with different politics!
Thanks Wilhelm. You have a great memory.
Did you ever talk about the dastardly Sierra-Nevada CONservancy that Schwarzenegger forced on all us conservatives in 1/5th of eastern CA???
