"That looks like old news. Check my post #18 for a 2004 update." I know but the interview I heard was just last week. This was just the first substantive article I found when I did a search. I'll check your post and read the 2004 update. Thanks for the heads up. I would really love to see this movie made by a competent team that will do it justice. I'm just afraid that this won't happen in todays Hollywierd.

This appears to be old news. Don't know for sure. But thanks for thinking of me.

Try "Atlas Shrugged" by Ayn Rand. Should win hands down. I still cannot believe no one has made a movie of this book.
Great idea. But preexisting properties are ineligible. I think the point of the contest is to encourage people with a conservative or libertarian point of view to create new, original stories. They don't necessarily have to be overtly political. But why should most movies be made by liberals (who cannot resist injecting their own views into the plot)?

Sounds like the anti-Canadian Bacon.

Me too. And even with a screenplay in hand, one has about a million to one shot of making it into a film.

What a great film your book would make. It's got everything. Intrigue, conspiracy, guns and a pretty girl. I wish I knew how to write a screenplay. I doubt it could be made for 5 million dollars though.
My idea for a movie would be a bunch of kids stumble across a Muslim training area. Something like what was found in Oregon or Virginia. The kids try to get the media interested, but they instead go to the small town and find racism everywhere. Of course in the end the terrorists are rounded up and the media shown for the fools that they are.

That sounds like a terrific story line!

I’m not sure what happened with the AFR competition, but there is a new conservative screenwriting competition. It’s called the Constitutional Conservative Coalition Screenwriting Competition. There is also a companion conservative screenwriters forum. You can find it listed on moviebytes or on facebook.
