Hey B4Ranch,
How many illegal aliens do you know?
I married one...from uhh..Mexico. I taught her English. She votes republican by the way. Recently she tried to quit her current job, so the CEO fired her boss to keep her. I hope her 100,000 options pay off when they go public. Furthermore, I suggest you start growing your own lettuce, strawberrys, oranges, tobacco and everything else, because without the dispised illegal aliens you'd be paying two times or more at the store for them.
Funny how indeed things are a little bit more complicated than we wish they were.
That said, this country needs to control immigration, which our beloved president ...
"How many illegal aliens do you know?"
None, but I do know, oh, probably three dozen who came here legally. One of my neighbors is a Nevada Senators "immigration staffer". Yes, he's a Mexican born in America. He's the child of legal Mexican Americans.
The fact that you support or married a lawbreaker does not impress me in the tiniest way. Are you a habitual thief, drug smuggler or a repeated drunk driver also? Sorry, for laying the facts out so obviously for all to see but you were the one who publiclly admitted to breaking the law.
So are minority students doing worse because their home life *aka culture* or because of their genetics ?
Oh wait its not due to anything at all except to few tax dollars.
On international science and math achievement testing, US kids are waaaaaay down the list, a little better than Bulgaria. The top performers on the international testing are all from Asia.
(Hence the invention of the PC term "URM" for "underrepresented minorities", a group to be carefully distinguished from, you know, all those boring, hard-working overrepresented minorities.)
I seriously doubt that there ever was any bias.
I mean, science and math are objective. 2 + 2 = 4 everywhere. And while its true that the focus of History curriculum is more open-ended, I see no reason why, for example, its easier for white and Asian kids to learn important dates dealing with dead white men than it is for black and latino kids.
Unfortunately the Jesuit university I attended and many others have taken a sharp turn to the left in terms of politics and multi-culturalism.
