It therefore follows that a failure to find razor blades near the inflight bathroom represents a major cause for concern.Aha, my dear Watson. Elementary. The case of the razor blade that didn't bark?

Just arm everybody and it will soon sort itself out.

Just counted 4 separated Passenger Aircraft incidents today:
Malaysian flight had engine trouble and dropped altitude rapidly on takeoff -- people panicked -- but plane made it back to airport.
Then there is the miraculous Air France fire on landing with no one killed in Toronto.
Number 3 was smoke in the cockpit of a Tucson to DFW flight of American Airlines (fire trucks surrounded plane on landing).
And this incident in Kansas City.
On another thread, this day is the anniversary of the DFW crash of an L1011 (August 2, 198?).

They should have a .357 loaded with six rounds of 38 special permanently attached via chain to each and every seat. Upon request, the flight attendants will gladly provide parents with handcuffs to help them manage their unruly tykes.

According to initial reports, the passenger saw the blade near the restroom. The passenger immediately alerted the flight crew, who put the blade in the cockpit, 90 minutes? Any report on how pissed the passengers must have been 'cause the pilot p_ssed his pants over one blade?

Google search under news plane brought forth an article on that as it is the same date 20 years ago that that occurred, a flight in a thunderstorm as with the Toronto one today url:

Paint scraper.
Hard to use as a weapon, although easy enough to gash yourself on a finger. OTOH, wounds close easily and heal quickly.
