Hmmm...somebody named Osama bin Laden, with an email address of "bigcheese@alqaeda.org" just left this comment on the petition: The war should end so I can add all the lovely ladies of Code Pink to my harem. I have even purchased thousands of yards of hot pink cloth which you can use to make your special burkhas. I look forward to getting jiggy with every single one of you because of your brilliant acts of jihad like holding war protests mere yards from your country's wounded. Truly, a great reward awaits you in Paradise, but the down payment is in my trousers. Smoochies to you all, especially Gael and Medea, who I want to smooch like a mule eating an apple."
Well, at least he knows who his friends are.

Sombody named "Heywood Jabuzzov" stopped by and left this:
Reasons to end the war. Hmmm...
Well, Congress didn't authorize taking down the Hussein regime. Oh wait, they did in 1998, 2001 and 2003. Oops.
Um...Iraq wasn't harboring, training or funding terrorists. Oh wait, they were harboring Abu Nidal and giving medical treatment to Al Qaeda bigwigs, training terrorists at several compounds (including one at Salman Pak with a 707 airliner for hijacking practice), and funding terrorists in Palestine. Oops.
I guess we should just stop the war because people like Medea Benjamin think we should. Just because she thinks people don't need things like fair trials and civil liberties (how else to explain her affection for Castro's Cuba?) doesn't mean she isn't wise in the ways of freedom and justice. Thank you Medea, for leading the way...to Castro's gulag.

I would suggest you sign it anyway. Really, what message does it send to anybody when an organization sets up a petition that forces even those who agree with them to parrot their exact line, word for word? A comment supporting the war appearing under their fascist lockstep bovine excrement can only be interpreted as rejection of their message, not endorsement.

I was wondering that, too. If all they do is count numbers of people responding, looks to me like we are helping them out. If that were all they were doing, they wouldn't add comments, much less display them on the websie and promise to "deliver your message to the White House" in September.
Plus, if they police their petition at all, they will remove the pro-freedom comments and signatures, making work for them and making the signature count a real count of moonbats.

Julie, there is no way that these people are going to deliver a petition to the White House that has endorsements from Osama Bin laden of Jalalabad, Heywood Jabuzzov of Outer buttscratch, Maine and George Bush of Washington DC. Just have fun with it.
