Bolton will probably be the most successful in history.

Depends. If by successful you mean providing the leadership that takes the UN to a new plateau and implements the reforms that the administration believes the UN needs then I think you'll be disappointed. I don't think that any of the countries at the UN are hankering for US leadership, nor are they conivinced that they need reforming. Bolton will be a voice in the wilderness.

Say what has Wesley been doing since he tanked so badly in the primaries. I forget about these people until they resurface out of their hole periodically to spout nonsense. 'Bout time Wesley started his own TV network or something.

What the hell does senatorial support have to do with any ambassador's effectiveness? He represents the most powerful nation in history. That'll be enough to get the attention of the mongrels in the UN. Clark is a complete idiot.

He predicted that Bolton would have a difficult time because of the lack of senatorial support.

Screw the few Dims that blocked a vote on Bolton. They had their chance to vote and chose to play politics instead.

He is SOOOO irrelevant. Another face I can't stand to watch on FOX. I'd rather watch a commercial than Weasley.

That is my only regret, A brilliant and resolute individual wasted as a representative to a corrupt and vile institution that has no redeeming value. President Bush could have made a much stronger statement by simply refusing to appoint anyone. He would have been heralded as a champion of the truth if he had simply said we have no one who we value so little that we can waste them at the U.N.

Exactly: Sheila Jackson Lee or Maxine Waters , even Nancy Pelosi would have been perfect for the job.

President Bush waited way way too long to make this appointment. He should have given the Dems a couple of months and then appointed him at the first recess.

The Democrats recently came up with a document in which Bolton made a "mistake." I think they were going to go into high gear about it this week. The appointment stops them to some extent, yet now I expect them to start the accusations of "perjury" and demands for another "special prosecutor."
