I was at a cousins graduation party and there was a woman there who was breast-feeding her kid while fixing herself a plate of food.
More than a few folks lot their appetites. That was a bit over the top, IMO.
boob cops ping ;~D
It's tough to generate sympathy for some victims. Even when they are right.
My understanding of the health research strongly favoring breast feeding leads me to simply dismiss anyone who finds breastfeeding "inappopriate." Go for it Mom... anytime... anyplace. Take care of your baby and tell folks to take their moralistic squeamishness and stick it in their ear. Don't risk your kid's health to cater to them.
There is no great harm or source of outrage in a breast. Folks who think there is can (and will, if they love children more than being a busybody) change.
Dorian Ryan said she wants an apology for what she called a "humiliating and degrading" experience.
I'm sorry she got a ticket, but as far as the apology is concerned, she can cry me a river.
I am so sick of these women who think they can march right into public, pull their shirts down and expose themselves to feed their child and expect everyone to be on board. Everybody wants "their" lifestyle to be accepted, but those people won't accept other's preferences. Selfish. I was in Trader Joes once, and this women didn't even bother to conceal it. Her boob was just hanging right out there in the open. It was disgusting.
I breastfed my child, but I did it in the privacy of my home, and when I had to leave the home, I pumped so someone else could feed him.
Shhheeessshhhh!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Enough of this crap already!!!!
"Ryan was issued a $50 summons and complaint at Carter Lake in Larimer County for knowingly (exposing) one's genitals in a public place."
Breasts are genitals????????
Second, if I'm not mistaken: AUGUST IS NATIONAL BREASTFEEDING MONTH.
Third, I'm pro-breastfeeding; I'm also from an area of the country where exhibitionist "political statement" breastfeeding is rather common. It's obnoxious. Anyway; other factoids.
Fourth, having studied these "pub breastfeeding" debates here on the forum, new alliances and new dislikes will begin. Par usual.
This CO woman, if she was discrete? I feel badly for the person who arrested her for being overlyzealous. Breastfeeding is a good thing; but nudity exhibitionism is not. And I don't give a rats whether anyone wants to call breasts boobs or "feeding apparatus".
The injunction to simply "look away" if a mother is breastfeeding in public, is never carefully discussed: Is the mother brazenly "hanging out"? Or being as discrete as possible?
I'm shocked that a little exposed nipple sends people into caniption fits, the sky is falling and the world ends tomorrow.
Europeans have every right to tell Americans that we are prudish and uptight becuase guess what, WE ARE!
