Sharpton Slams Blacks for Blindly Supporting Clinton, Democrats

This is an awkward moment for me.

I agree with something Al Sharpton said.

Blacks shouldn't blindly support the Democrat Party.

Maybe Sharpton should be asking why a large number of blacks blindly follow the Democratic Party.

Al is under pressure. He has refused to give up his records to the FEC. He is facing a major fine. Al is playing to the crowd, the National Urban League, not the NAACP. Al must hope he can get some right wing money and more exposure with some tepid anti-Dem remarks. He is just positioning himself for the 2006 mid-terms and 2008. Al wants to be the new Jesse Jackson and get some gravy.

He made similar remarks during the 2004 election primaries, i.e., the Dem party is taking blacks for granted. Much ado about nothing.

And, many other crucial issues for blacks. No "leader" who fails to address ALL the most crucial issues facing blacks is deserving the title of "black spokesman".

Sharpton has never done anything other than "position himself financially". Congress is elected to represent the people, step-ins such as Al, are nothing more than leeches who for a price rob people of support. The "system" has yet to benefit the people.

Poverty pimps like Fat Al always seek to find a place in the headlines. Their latest angle is to shakedown the Democratic Party. I think that's poetic justice. Misery loves company.

Hands up if you want to see Bill Cosby give Al a good public verbal dressing down, then take over as a true visionary African-American political leader. Though Al has made a few good points here. Stop the gangsta rap, make your kids stay in school, clean your neighborhoods of drug dealers, encourage the gang leaders to lead the gangs into community service (it actually worked here in Canada for a few native gangs: old native Vets and old gang members grabbed some of the punks by the ear and forced them to do community service and into rehab) and for heaven's sake make sure you know where your children are and that they aren't doing something that will screw up the rest of their life. And stop blindly supporting a party that continues to screw you, has members of the KKK, was the party of the KKK, etc. etc.
