My sense, too. His speech boiled down to a belief that Americans want higher taxes.

I'm glad for them to think that.

One reason I don't like Democrats is they all use foul language.

Case in point: Compare the tenor of the postings here with those at DemocraticUnderground.

Rick isn't wrong about the "ideas" topic, but he hasn't really talked about any new ones.

I noticed that, too. He begins by talking about new and simple ideas, but then he continues to rant about old and busted commie ideas that don't work. I guess he forgot what he was talking about.

He still doesn't get it. He approaches it at the beginning when he touches on the different definitions of "idea" -- but then he blows it.

Conservatives (and I think most Freepers would agree) don't actually care about the Republican Party. They care about America, and freedom. If the Democrats showed that they care about those things -- instead of winning elections -- many of us would vote for them.

I'd love to have the option to vote Democratic. I'd love to have a marketplace of ideas. But the liberals still don't get that.

Republicans work their A$$ off for it and the democrats try to take the credit for it.

Republicans Conservatives work their A$$ off for it and the democrats liberals try to take the credit for it.

There, I think that's a little more accurate.

You will pay a medical bill,—yours and everybody else's. Then, the bill payers will have a right to come to your house and tell you what you can and cannot eat, how much your life is worth and in what order you will be allowed to receive that medical care. (Politicians and actors being of greatest import will skip to the front of the line of course.)

More important to the Democrats' "Free Healthcare For All" plan... they will also decide when your life is no longer worth living.

Almost 5 years here, and a dollar-a-day FReeper and I've never gotten marching orders. Am I missing something?

Yes...you...are-Your..orders...are...being...transmitted...to...you...subliminally

As more and more citizens get "super jumboed" in the a$$, these programs will lose their appeal altogether.

I'm "in" at 1/3 that, and I'm missing out as well.

Nuclear proliferation.

Terrorism.

Illegal alien invasion.

Chines armaments buildup.

Iran nuclear development.

Energy dependence on foreign oil--revival of nuclear energy for America.

You NEVER hear RATs talk about issues that are important for our nation and for future generations. You NEVER hear the RATs talk about national security. All they can talk about is the party, how to build it, how to regain power, etc.

Typical RAT focus group. Screw the nation--just get us back in power.

Krugman has never seen a problem that couldn't be "solved" with higher taxes on the "rich".

The Stock Ticker and the Superjumbo.

(Audible groan.)

It's the dichotomy, ppl!

(Prolonged eye roll.)

That's one of those cumbrous, Friedmanesque titles that just screams "don't purchase this book."

My eyes are glazing over just contemplating the first chapter.

Yes, but everything will be all neat and orderly. No chaos, no unexpected moves, nothing stands out as unusual or exciting. Practically perfect in every way. Not only is that silly, it BORING!

There is a website that thousands of committed Republicans spend hours on, giving and receiving marching orders.

PLEASE REFER TO YOUR HANDOUT.

Heh, heh.

Busted!

I've been waiting for marching order from FR for 5 years but, like George Costanza and the Sunshine Carpet Cleaners cult, I keep getting ignored.
