Why is it so difficult for people to understand the type of warfare we are fighting here? The terrorists are in disjoint cells operating with minimal personal contact. You cannot flush them out easily. The only way to try and flush them out is with disinformation while trying to ascertain the identity of the connections. This is the only way to dismantle a cell network like AQ. It also helps reduce the trust the AQ people would have in their own communication network.

Therefore, either these people are truly simplistic in their lack of understanding or they are working with AQ and are trying to uncover those cells that have been compromised.

Another excerpt from the article:

But Ressam, 38, could have received a shorter sentence had he not stopped talking to investigators in early 2003. Prosecutors argued that his recalcitrance has jeopardized cases against two of his co-conspirators.

Now, let me get this straight: this clown has tied up our courts for five years, has jeopardized two other terror cases, refused to give us potentially vital terror information, and this judge has the nerve to declare the trial a great judicial success? And I presume he wants us to use the same process to try every single terrorist/jihadist we capture on the battlefield during the WOT? Sheer insanity.
