According to one report, she woke up in a deck chair and went to the spa or the gym.

According to one report, she woke up in a deck chair and went to the spa or the gym. Hmmmmm.....if this is REALLY what happened, (and if she found blood on herself or *ahem* "other" body fluids the origin of which she couldn't be sure) she might have gone to the spa or gym to shower.

And they talk about a "substance that might be blood"! Do you think they thought to get DNA before they scrubbed the deck and awning clean?

I heard that his wife was not on the way to the gym to go workout. They both had massage appts in the morning. When she woke up she realized that they had missed their appts and she thought her husband had let her sleep in while he went to his. She went down to the spa, not the gym, to look for him. When they told her that he was not there she went back to the room to see if he had come back and that is when she was approached by cruise officials who were already aware of the loud "thud" report and the blood. They were checking rooms and were waiting for the occupants to return to their cabins so they could account for everyone. Thats what happened. I do not believe she was not involved at all. I believe she was sleeping while all of this was going on in her cabin and on the balcony.

I think you may be on to something. At the very least, this could well be a friend of Jennifer's.

It appears the Turkey investigators have some blood samples.
http://www.greenwichtime.com/scn-missing0717,0,7154469.story?coll=green-main-utility
The official spoke last week on condition of anonymity. Civil servants in Turkey are rarely allowed to speak on the record. The prosecutor said he was waiting for the blood samples to be able to continue with the investigation. The family's blood samples would help investigators establish whether the blood stains came from Smith, he said.

It was just odd that it was her first post and her statement "Thats what happened" stuck out to me. It would explain why the groom's family is standing by her if this is her story.

With that much blood, we're talking a knife wound at the very least. Did the body go from the deck to the awning or the reverse?

Deck to awning. There was also a bloody hand print on the railing of the balcony.

Well it's not stopping me from taking my first cruise in October. Of course, I'm going on Holland America which does not have a reputation for late night drunken revelry (which suits me just fine.)

According to the photo, there was no railing on the deck. That is curious. Looks like the body slid to the edge and then fell to the awning. Where does the balcony fit in this sequence?
