Watch the movie "Airplane" for my reference.
Peace to you.
"Actors tend to be dumb."
Not Gary Johnston. Gary had a double major in theater and world languages at Iowa University.
LOL. That's why I looked up her photo on Google . . . I'd never heard of the genius either.
Don't do that!!! Your cousin needs all the happy thoughts he can handle. Let it be as far as he is concerned. Thanks.
Well no doubt there is politics in Hollywood, but I think people are overreacting on this Oliver Stone 9/11 film. Stone didn't write the script, and it's not really about the attacks as a whole, it's about two Port Authority officers who were the last guys pulled out of the rubble. They've been wanting to make a movie because they think it's really important to tell their story. I'm sure as heck not going to tell two heroes from 9/11 that want to tell their story that they can't.
I had no idea Washington had done this. Sincere thanks for pointing it out.
So again, thanks for posting.
There are exceptions of course, but I find Gary's acting a little "wooden."
Dumb and ignorant are bedfellows. I recall hanging out with theatre majors in college (ok, the girls were cute, so dumb didn't matter so much). I was always stunned by their total lack of awareness of the world around them. I was sitting with three theatre majors and it was about 3 months after Nixon had resigned. I made some comment about President Ford and one of them asked me what he was president of and I said the United States. They all looked at me with baffled expressions and one then asked me what happened to President Nixon. None of them knew he had resigned. I SWEAR this is a true story. My own view is that many actors tend to feel guilty for making so much money doing something that takes very little effort. They try to appear more important and relevant than they are so they try to act intelligent by making statements on political issues. They ape each other and what you get is the ignorant leading the ignorant. I recall once when I was a photographer, watching Jane Fonda and a couple of other actresses testify on farm issues before a Senate committee. All except Fonda had been in Farm movies. One Republican Senator asked Fonda what made her an expert on farming and with a straight face she said her Uncle owned a farm. There were titters all around and even the other two actresses were embarrassed because, after all, having been in movies about farming they were the true experts while Fonda was a pretender. Such is the mentality of the acting profession.
My point exactly. He has not made a successful movie in a long time. He lets his ridiculous political views intrude into the story and makes some of the dumbest films imaginable.
One can only imagine what he's going to do with 9/11 in his upcoming movie (remember, two weeks after 9/11 he called it a righteous rebellion against American hegemony).
