May "God stay the murderous hand" of the terrorists who are driven by "fanaticism and hatred" and may he "convert their hearts" to the ideals of reconciliation and peace, he said.

When asked by journalists whether Islam could be thought of as a religion of peace, the pope said, "I would not like to use big words to apply generic labels." More power to the Holy Father.

I like this Pope. He gives strong condemnation for violence and still desires and demands that we pray for the conversion of violent, wayward sheep.
This shows us that there is an enemy more sinister than mortal men. It's not merely mortal men behaving badly that we're dealing with. The evil of this terror is such that those harboring the evil may yet be strong allies. That's how wicked Satan is.
Revelation of Christ's Goodness is wonderful, but the responsibilities of free will is to also reject the evil one. Learning the greatness of creation is to also minor in the criminology of satanic action.

I just pray that, before too much more damage is done by the so-called "religion of peace" that Pope Benedict XVI calls a crusade...

If he reconstitutes the Templars, that'd be even better.
