As will every president after Bush. zzzZZzzz
There was a fascinating article I read recently about a female judge.
After 9/11, she read every book about Islam she could lay her hands on.
When she was finished, she learned key words in Arabic, visited Islamic web sites and using software to translate, started reading. Using a screen name, she set herself up as a jihadist.
She never posted during the five times a day of prayer and learned the holidays of the Islamic faith, etc., and other jihadists started corresponding with her.
She contacted the FBI several times, testified in a trial and the FBI have stated publicly that she averted a terrorist attack in this country.
She remained anonymous until the despicable MSM outted her when some reporters attended the trial and wrote her real name in their papers.
She has since received death threats and has been put under protection, along with her family, but she is back under another screen name doing the same thing.
"I submit to you that more casualties are committed in the U.S. by illegal Mexicans than by people from any other country."
That is an incredible accusation. Any data or evidence you have would be appreciated.
Is it? Foreign citizens. Entering the country undetected. Murdering, robbing, raping at percentages higher than average, turning inner cities into warzones, forming terrorist gangs (over 200 in Los Angeles alons), and driving down wages for middle-class American citizens, driving uninsured and unlicensed.
More dangerous to the country I tell you.
More people die in car accidents in the US in three months, too. That doesn't mean automobile travel is a greater danger to us as a people.
NOW, you're talking apples and oranges. The same can be said for fast food which is even more dangerous than cars. And tobacco. Voluntary behavior and the fact that people can't drive worth crap is indeed a safety problem, but if you're talking about which foregin nationals we should fear violance from the most ... I submit to you that it is the Mexicans. Some 300 gang muders in LA county alone yearly. Sure, the muslims get all the publicity with the targeted "big strikes", but year over year, day in and day out, they are no match for our terrorist to the south.
The reason Islam is a greater danger is that Islam seeks to control your life and to punish or kill you for your conscience and beliefs.
Yeah, La Raza pretty much wants to do that too.
Illegal immigrants only want to make quick buck. In this context, illegal immigration from south of the border is a large and costly benign tumor
Benign???
Next time you are in LA, let me take you on a tour my friend.
but Islamic extremism is rapidly metastaticizing malignancy.
I don't dispute that, but I think we are concentrating more on the lessor threat than the greator threat. Islamic extremists aren't forming dangerous gangs, procreating at incredible levels, making public education and healtchare unviable, putting bullet holes through your window, and pushing down your wages. Rather, they tend to take themselves out along with their misdeeds.
Thank you Wolf
No it wouldn't. At least not by you.
My point, for those who wish only to focus on Israel's struggles (or on our invasion of Iraq), is that the problem is far older and more extensive.
This war is not the fault of Israel, or Bush, or Blair, or Iraq, or our "failure" to address Arab "grievances," or any other such nonsense.
It has been a terrible mistake for the western powers to see this as only an Israeli-Palestinian war. It's long past time to widen the scope of our viewpoint. My commentary and the list I selected is focused on dramatically demonstrating the worldwide scope of the problem.
I refuse to isolate Israel in this struggle any longer.
I heard about her. Wasn't her name . . . . Peach ? ? :) lol
Thanks for doing some math, Chad. I used Excel to do the calculation. If I can't trust Excel's math, then I'm really in trouble. :-)
LOL.
It's something I'd love to do. I've read the books, saved the link to the software, etc. But I just don't think I'm quite as smart as that judge and could pull it off.
It would also cut into my FR time :-)
That upsets me mildly that they exclude those totals, but keep in mind that without those totals even, the total casualties are around 7458 worldwide. The attacks in Israel that you speak of push that total well past the 10,000+ mark. Would have been even worse if Operation Bojinka had been successfully carried out, with as much as 15,000 casualties...
Amen, I say to you, the enemy is not al qaeda, or the PLO, or Fatah, or Abu Sayef, or Abu Nidal, or the Al Aqsa Martyrs brigade... the enemy my friends, is Islam.
Forgive me if I'm not getting the point of your question. I researched and wrote the above piece over the last few days in reaction to the press conference of Prime Ministers Tony Blair and John Howard regarding last week's attempted bombings in London.
Great post, Wolf*
marked for future reference. Thank you.
Me too. I have deep respect for President Bush, and understand what he and other leaders mean when they say we should go on with our lives. But they are doing a disservice to the public by treating us children who need to be patted on the head and sent into the other room so we don't hear the adults' worried conversation.
Not only is the country in a fight for its life.. though it is.. This is a war to preserve Judeo Christian Civilization in general, and Anglo-Saxon Democracy in particular.
bttt
Truth Bump

My fault for being ambiguous.
My point is that we haven't been oblivious to the dangers of Islamic terrorist attacks since 9/11/2001. My point is that we haven't seen terrorist attacks as independent crimes since 9/11/2001. My point is that we aren't fooling ourselves that any action on our part caused any of these attacks. My point is that since 9/11/2001, we are carrying out operations in one long, sustained, worldwide campaign against jihadists. That was the point of my question. It contradicts the what you said which follows;
The enemy has been escalating the frequency and ferocity of his attacks over the past 35 years while we have been oblivious to the growing danger. For starters, we need to stop seeing terrorist attacks as independent crimes. We need to stop fooling ourselves that any action on our part caused any of these attacks. Rather, we need to see them as operations in one long, sustained, worldwide campaign by jihadists against the "infidel."
