What can I say??? God help, protect, and save our children. There must be something civilized people can do to stop this. I know this one seems like some sort of family (?)dispute, but this poor little baby is missing no matter the reason.

There is something we can all do besides pray and be on the alert. We HAVE to better inform our local and Federal legislatures that a restraining order is just a piece of paper. The Perps know this but apparently the victims think they're "protected" when they're not.

Ankle bracelets on Perps until their Court date and then the Court can decide if they continue to wear it or not would at least alert authorities if the Perp left his home or got to close to the Victim's home.

Until people's morality takes a turn for the better, there will always be "ex-boyfriend/fathers" of children being 'raised' by a new boyfriend/potential new father. Girls and women do NOT think something like an abducted child can happen to them, but it can and it does. States make it worse by not pursuing absent parents, cooperating with ALL the other US States, and obtaining Court Ordered Child Support. The men need to understand the rule "if you play, you pay" when it comes to tossing a few thousand sperm around in just any willing receptacle.

Well, I just got home. I heard the news when I was out. I am looking for details now. But, thank goodness this little child has been found. Praise God is right!

This sounded like the perp does/did this in a fit of anger, not a planned abduction. Not that it makes it any better for the child, of course. Hope he gets the book thrown at him and the mother makes some wise decisions about her life and protecting these children. Still wonder about the weight thing, however, but I guess that is unimportant considering....

First, I'm really glad they found her safe.

But I agree with you that her measurements can't be right.

I looked up the growth charts in my American Academy of Pediatrics Caring for Your Baby and Young Child book.

Average (50th percentile) height for a 3YO girl: 37 inches
Average (50th percentile) weight for a 3YO girl: 30 lbs

I think somebody got confused about her measurements.

She could be *3* foot five (41 inches); 95th percentile for a 3YO girl is about 40 inches, so that's not totally unreasonable.

60lbs is way out there, though - it's TWICE the average weight! Even the 95th percentile weight for a 3YO girl is only 36 lbs.

She looks plump, but a 60 lb 3YO would look like a beach ball!
