ATTENTION!!! Over the weekend I read about half of the book, "Isaac's Storm" about the hurricane that destroyed Galveston in 1900. It's a MUST READ! Not only does it cover the Galveston Hurricane but it talks about the history of the weather service plus the history of majory hurricanes in the Caribbean. There is a great section about a hurricane that Columbus encountered that sank most of a Spanish gold fleet.

You should be able to get this book at your local library. For anybody even the least bit interested in Hurricanes it is a MUST READ. Very well written.

My kids just got back from a week at Siesta Key with their grandparents and said the red tide was pretty bad.

Last week a dolphin and manatee were found dead by Egmont Key. Red tide blamed. Terra Ceia Bay has been full of dead, stinky fish.
