Are they tax-exempt?
I would imagine but I am not sure.
A beginning would be to close down mosques in America
An equally effective 'beginning' would be for city planning and permitting departments to say NO to any more being buiilt!
There are many people who think like these letter writers but don't write to the editor. I would say that probably the majority of Americans feel the same way.
The pen is mightier than the sword!
So would I. If so, then they should be monitored and audited and lose tax exempt staus immediately, if they use hate speech or incite to violence.
In what way?
How would we know, especially if they preach in Arabic? Do you think they let just anybody in? They aren't like Christian churches where all are welcome. Of course a few well-placed spies might be a good idea.
If all or even ANY part of that equation would be adhered to now, no Muslim would be here.
Sorry, Muslims are not illiterate, and they are allowed to make any kind of false oath if it advances the cause of Islam. Islamic websites have addressed this question specifically from Muslims who asked about having to swear to protect and defend the Constitution, when their religion calls on them to work for the imposition of Muslim law on earth.
Use eminent domain to take over the mosques :^)
What IS the problem with accepting that people who self-identify as Muslims BELIEVE what the Koran says?
I believe that a Boy Scout believes in that groups rules
I believe that a Buddhist believes in Buddha's teachings.
I believe that ANYONE who belongs to a religion or group actually BELIEVES what that group stands for.
But we ASSUME that Muslims DON'T believe all women are property, infidels should die and the world should be ruled by Islam-when the book they believe in SAYS so?
WHY is that?
Why is Islam exempt from so much? Why is the world tip-toeing around MUSLIM 'feelings' but not those of other religions? Fear???
How can that be? Islam is peace and love....right?
"Perhaps the most interesting thing about this is that some papers are actually PUBLISHING these letters. I am going to assume that they have been receiving such letters for some time, so why are they now deciding to publish them? Stepping outside the box of protecting the left agenda of destroying our country is not something that most newspapers do. Could it be that a few of the editors are becoming a 'leetle beet' concerned too?"
Precisely. This is as significant as the letters themselves. Cracks in the dam.
Asolutely! Terrorists are giving Muslims a bad name. Steps should be taken to distance themselves...
Islam is the religion of peace. Sure, like Saddam Hussein is an angel. A recent report says that between 09/11/01 and 07/07/05 there have been more than 2,587 major terrorist attacks involving loss of life all over the world. Total deaths: 15,716. Total injured: 34,575.
Most of these attacks, and almost all attacks against Western civilizations, have been made by Muslims. What does this tell a rational mind?
Do you believe our leaders are bright enough to connect these dots? Clearly, they are not. Our government still refuses to profile at airports; refuses to deport all illegal aliens; allows free entry to citizens of terrorist nations; refuses to tighten our borders; and still permits what is virtually unlimited immigration.
Where will we find leaders who are able to make the most simple deductions from the overwhelming evidence available? If the Muslims had planted moles in our government many years ago they could not enjoy more freedoms than our present government provides for potential terrorists.
The government in Washington even puts many Muslims on the dole and gives them the protection of the U. S. Constitution as if they were citizens.
Where are the so-called peaceful Muslims around the world who deplore terrorist attacks on innocent civilians? Perhaps we are hearing so little from such Muslims for the very simple reason that there are virtually none.
We are not talking here about religious tolerance, or lack thereof, but about survival. We need leaders who will protect our nation from our enemies wherever they are found. Standing watch on every (foreign) border, as President Bush said in his inaugural speech is the wrong move. We need to stand watch on our own borders.

Watch out for the indoctrination in the schools - that is where the 'buying of prayer rugs' is going to come from. When your grandkids come home from school and tell you that Muslimes are 'nice people' then we are in real trouble.
Terrorists are giving Islam it's CORRECT name.
They are showing Islams TRUE face- the fact that other Muslims are not working to show Islams 'loving' face proves that there is none.
Islam is death- the terrorists have shown us the truth. Have the guts to believe it.
I wonder how many of these letter writers have gotten personal threats.
