just enforcing existing law would be hunky dory for starts
"Illegal immigration" is not mentioned on Senator Dole's web site, even though every other issue is discussed there.
Same for Senator Burr's web site. BUT, he DOES have an alternative "En Espanol" web site. Maybe he discusses the problem there.
Sending them email is ineffective -- because it is lost in the thousands received daily in their offices. Snail mail is ineffective -- because of security screening and decon, they won't see it for weeks.
FAX is the only way to get a message onto their desk.

You have been proven either wrong or a liar again. You are alway either one or the other or both.
I could not disagree more.
In order to get elected a politician must get the votes of a majority. Any politician who fails to get that vote becomes a non politician. You can play on the margins...perhaps only 40% support a candidates position on issue A, but 60% support his position on issue B so it equals out, but the people don't elect politicians who promise to do what the people don't want done.
I think either the people really don't care about immigration as an issue, or other pressing issues like taxes, terrorism, and abortion supersede illegal immigration as an issue.
I know you disagree. Would you care to elaborate your statement?
I would be very interested to know what you consider your 5 top issues are? Mine are:
1 Life
2 Defense
3 Taxes
4 Guns
5 Trade
To be perfectly honest I could vote for a gun grabber or trade isolationist if they were strong on abortion, defense, and taxes and the rat was deficient in all categories as usual.
This is true, and has been for a long time.
Watch for big changes in the future. People can be fooled and lied too only so many times, until they finally realize they've been had. Even those the have not been paying attention, are now attentive.
The change is coming, and politics, the two entrenched party's and business as usual will be forced to change by the people. The mood of the people is changing, and many are very unhappy with much of what is happening today, regarding supporting half the world, liberal policies, the borders and our standard of living.
I'm sorry, I'm unsure who these "people" are. Is it Republicans and rats? Because I think most Republicans and rats know who they voted for. For example, very few Bush voters can stand up and shout "Hey! Bush said he would do this and then he didn't do it." They can say it on a few issues like CFR and...well I can't think of any others, but on taxes, judicial nominees, and Medicare reform Dubya has done what he said he would do. Who are the fooled and lied to "people" please?

What usually happens when both parties ignore a problem is a 3rd party rises to prominence running on a platform of fixing the ignored problem. Then one or both of the major parties adopt the majority position. Do you see a viable 3rd party rising?
They just lie about their allegience, hence "false flag freepers."
Immigration Leftists Ted Kennedy and George Bush do not.
It is really amazing that rod chooses to side with an illegal alien with three DWI's and is a murderer rather than to stand with America.
This is indeed a blight on the great State of Texas.
Exactly, I like to fax them as well. I was actually looking for a way to send each and every one of these sad stories to our congressmen every time something like this happens. Looking into it now.
I've heard about the bunkers, but of course they're NOT for the "little people". The politicians lack something that most Americans have, though, and it's called conscience.
Yes.
That's quite a powerful case you've made for your opinion. Well done.
I think you're starting to get it.
He was thinking that a Subaru was the only car he could afford. Two years earlier he lost his job because of the economy. Then, a few months after, his daughter was born 2 months premature and they were paying of her HUGE medical bills. His wife is a stay at home mom and he worked his butt off just to make ends meat to provide for his family. He was thinking that he should be able to take his family on their first ever vacation and have a good time. Do not criticize this man ever again. He was a wonderful father and a wonderful husband. You should be ashamed of yourself for saying anything like that.
