Illegals don't have to follow our laws. They know no one enforces them. Why should they follow DWI laws?

First off, welcome to Free Republic.

In response to your belated reply, the point I was making is that the drunk driver's nationality or legal status in the United States had nothing to do with the results of the accident.

A.) Repeat DWI offenders kill innocent highway travelers more often than the courts care to admit.

B.) A Suburu will always come out on the short end in a collision with a truck no matter how much you cared for your family.

C.) This poor fellow did not die because the other driver was illegally in the United States, he died because the illegal Mexican was drunk and operating a vehicle.

Fate has a lot to do with it. If the drunk and illegal Mexican didn't kill this guy, who's to say that the next drunk and very legal American-born good ol' boy would not have? Anyway, it sounds as though you have personal knowledge and/or a close tie to this family, my sympathies to him and his surviving family.
