I’ve talked with Protestant ministers about the immorality of a budget that cuts programs for the neediest among us while rewarding those with the most.

Hey Daschel clone... talk to these religious ministers about supporting liberal abortionist policies and supporting a Godless society and we'll see how long your faith website will last.

Man you guy's/ gal's called it.....

This is the new Democrat scandal! If you read what he said ver-batim he is totally up front about the Democrats and people of faith being two separate groups. We should bang this drum as loudly as possible.

I know it seems small compared to Rove and SCOTUS..but man if we get this horn blowing...he will have to defend the Dems stance on this while questioning all possible conservative nominees about Roe v Wade....oh man you could not ask for a better trap to set.

I think Karl ROve put him up to it.

"What happened to separation of church and state?"

Not an issue here, because everyone knows Reid doesn't actually mean it.

The Mormon church needs to have a serious talk with Dingy Harry if he is going to try to use his religion in a phony effort to reach out to truly faithful people. If he is going to use his ties to that Church, they ought to get him to commit to follow policies that the Mormons support--pro life, pro family, pro religion.

Bill Frist and the filibuster Against People of Faith

The theme of the telecast, which is called Justice Sunday and will be broadcast to churches and Christian radio and television networks, is "The Filibuster Against People of Faith." Its sponsors argue that by blocking judicial nominees who oppose abortion rights on religious and moral grounds, Democrats are effectively discriminating against those nominees.

May 6, 2005: Civil rights and religious leaders align to oppose legislative 'nuclear option'

snip:

The May 10 letter from civil rights and religious leaders to Senators Frist and Reid said the elimination of the filibuster means "there will be nothing to stop the majority from cutting off debate on regressive proposals concerning issues such as education, civil liberties, national security, and veteran's benefits."

The letter was signed by Barbara Arnwine, Executive Director of the Lawyers' Committee for Civil Rights Under Law; Julian Bond, Chairman of the NAACP; the Rev. Robert W. Edgar, General Secretary of the National Council of Churches USA; Marcia Greenberger, Co-President, National Women's Law Center; Dr. Dorothy I. Height, Chairperson, and Wade Henderson, Executive Director, Leadership Conference on Civil Rights; the Rev. Jesse L. Jackson, Sr., President and Founder, Rainbow PUSH; the Rev. Joseph Lowery, Chairman Emeritus, Black Leadership Forum; and Marc H. Morial, President and CEO, National Urban League.

Also, Karen K. Narasaki, President and Executive Director, National Asian Pacific American Legal Consortium; Ralph Neas, President, People for the American Way; Debra L. Ness, President, and Judith L. Lichtman, Senior Advisor, National Partnership for Women and Families; Rabbi David Saperstein, Director and Counsel, Religious Action Center of Reform Judaism; Theodore M. Shaw, Director-Counsel and President, NAACP Legal Defense and Education Fund; William L. Taylor, Chair, Citizens' Commission on Civil Rights; Patrisha A. Wright, Director of Government Affairs, Disability Rights Education and Defense Fund; and Raul Yzaguirre, Former President, National Council of La Raza.

Now, with regard to the "civil rights angle": Today an article at Freep: Black Panther foundation seeks to sell "Burn Baby Burn" hot sauce

Call it - a trigger for a search.

Flash point for black churches Gay marriage issue may benefit GOP

One can insert abortion, and any other conservative issues in lieu of "gay marriage" in this article in order to understand why Reid may be "beginning" a "faith" thingee.

On the other side of the aisle, a coalition of religious leaders, community activists and a representative from the National Hip Hop Political Convention held a news conference Saturday in Oakland to start a voter- registration drive and to condemn "the current administration's effort to co- opt African American congregations for partisan political advantage in the presidential election."

The group included the Rev. Amos Brown, pastor at Third Baptist Church and a former San Francisco supervisor, the Rev. Frank Pinkard of Evergreen Baptist Church in Oakland, and former Black Panther Party leaders David Hilliard and Bobby Seale.

While the gay marriage debate swirls, black religious leaders are addressing other, sometimes more pressing, issues such as the large number of children in foster care, unemployment and the disheartening homicide rate among young black males.

The Rev. Frazier put it in perspective with a real-life experience. Last spring, he led a march to San Francisco City Hall on behalf of parents who'd lost children in a rash of killings. His demonstration collided with a gay marriage demonstration at the same time.

"They held signs that said, 'Gays have a right to marry.' Our signs said, 'Black children have a right to live.' "

Sometimes you have to decide which is more important, he said.

The Rats can try to outreach to people who believe in God. But we notice that the GOP is not outreaching to Atheists.

What's next. Will the Rats try to outreach to Americans?

Even people as stupid as the Rats can not possibly believe they represent the majority of Americans.

"Hillary is going to put her hair in a beehive, wear extra makeup and dress in pink. Bill will dress in a leisure suit and have his hair puffed up and blow dried. " LMAO! Don't forget those long glue-on eyelashes.

I think democrats are getting very desperate. Despite all the spin from the media to prop them up, I bet their coffers aren't filling as they expected.

The LDS church won't have a talk with Harry Reid. We believe in letting people choose their political party and how they vote. That said, Harry Reid is a weasel. I hope the LDS members who continually vote for him in Nevada will come to their senses someday.

The DNC coffers aren't filling as expected with Howard Dean as leader. However, as much as I hate to say it, Hillary is pulling in money hand over fist. If she keeps up this pace, she will have $50 million dollars by Jan 2007. Be afraid.

Reid..'verbally assualts President'

Mike, that was my first thought too! This is the guy that called the President a loser and he wants us to believe he has good values. Reid is as bad as, if not worse than, Daschle.

”As Democratic Leader, I’ve made outreach to the people who barely have any faith  community a top priority, because they are easir to sucker with empty promises; and I have had the great privilege of meeting with corrupted leaders of many faiths. I’ve talked with Protestant gay ministers about the immorality of a future democrat budget that cuts programs for the neediest among us while missleading the people and telling them it's good for them, while rewarding those elitist liberals with the most yet pay the least. I’ve never discussed immigration and poverty with Catholic Bishops, and I’ve never met with Jewish leaders to discuss ways we can <strike>help</strike> scew hardworking families across this country with heavy tax increases

And in the beginning was the word, and the word was democrat :

As Democratic Leader, I've made outreach. I've talked with Protestant, Catholic, and Jewish leaders about keeping the poor dependent so they'll always support Democrats.

Under the guise of helping the downtrodden, we will make them helpless, angry victims, who hide their shame in drug addictions. Then we'll throw them useless promises -- year after year, after year, and they'll keep believing and we'll keep getting elected. So, do the "Christian" thing and keep the poor dependent, angry, entitled, and democrat.

Democrats and their supporters are shameless. They despise the church, yet prey (not pray) on their morality to give, help THEM help the poor. What a laugh. Most churches have their own programs, the ydon't need democrats to rob them of more money through taxes to support wastefull government ones where nothing gets to the intended people who need it. Christians have smartened up since the 50's.
