The CIA is a rogue agency, in a way. And didn't Clinton do something with a large segment of employees that made it darned near impossible to fire them?

And there's some saying of Clinton that's famously quoted that paraphrased says "I've left them some smoking guns to deal with."

The press informs the judges that the CIA itself "inadvertently" compromised Plame by not taking appropriate measures to safeguard classified documents that the Agency routed to the Swiss embassy in Havana. In the Washington Times article — you remember, the one the press hypes when it reports to the federal court but not when it reports to consumers of its news coverage — Gertz elaborates that "[t]he documents were supposed to be sealed from the Cuban government, but [unidentified U.S.] intelligence officials said the Cubans read the classified material and learned the secrets contained in them."
The media know the facts, since their attorneys cited these facts on their behalf in court.

Furthermore, besides the media, Fitzgerald must also know the facts. Why does he keep investigating a non-crime?

The emails between Rove and Hadley seem to exonerate Rove further. I agree with your post, and thanks.

I'm perplexed by Wilson's determination. Either he knows something that everyone else is missing, or he is an overblown egomaniac. I, like all of us, believe the latter.

<< But veteran investigative reporter Seymour Hersh says that retired CIA clandestine officers may have forged the documents as part of a "sting operation" against the Bush administration. >>

Ok, I've done some asking.....

What I found out... Hersh is right about this. Happened in the last week of August 2002, up to may-be 1 Sept or 2 Sept. The Cabal met in Switzerland. Lugano.

The tale about French intel was a false lead put out by the Cabal.

<< Writing in a recent issue of the New Yorker magazine, Hersh reports the intent may have been to embarrass "Iraqi hawks at the top of the Bush administration." These officers calculated that the "hawks" couldn't resist using the forgeries to make their case and would then look foolish when the hoax was revealed. >>

Hersh is wrong about this. If the racionale had been so, to stop the hawks, the hoax would have revealed prior to the war.

Who recalls Terrance J. Wilkinson?

I do and I keep some threads on that scam in my Wilson/Plame folder as I believe they are related.

For those not familiar with that story:

Did Capitol Hill Blue Post An Article With Fabrications?

(The answer turned out to be "yes")

I too think so.

Btw, we're also discussing Wilkinson on another thread - http://www.freerepublic.com/focus/f-news/1446543/posts - posts 71 &c.
