I saw the original "Alfie" with Michael Caine last night.
What a lousy movie. Why did they remake it?

The nanny was identified as Daisy Wright, 26. Driving Miss Daisy.

He doesn't have a very good "vow keeping" track record.

he (michael caine) plays nicole kidman's dad in Bewitched also, and does a bang up job of it.

Supposedly, one of his children caught him in bed with the nanny.

Michael Caine can be pretty good. But he has played in some extremely trashy movies also. Such as "Alfie" and the oh-so-terrible "Cider House Rules". Yuk.
To: what's up
What a lousy movie. Why did they remake it?At the time it was originally made, brazen cads like Alfie were a relatively new phenomenon and the breaking-the-fourth-wall narrative strategy was considered a sylistic departure.
And the feminist left hated Alfie because it showed how abortion better serves lecherous men than anxious women - net/net not a bad film.
It was remade because anything that was ever a hit is being remade.

I was wondering how they treated the abortion issue in the new "Alfie" or if they ignored it altogether.
